I haven't been around long enough for it to get annoying. That said, I don't necessarily understand continuing to deal with something that seems to be affecting her personally. Or at least taking it personally. At some point, the horse is just dead and there's no sense in beating it anymore.

But that's me. I've taken to pulling away from the things I love if they start disappointing me over the past couple years. Don't like the direction of a comic? Ignore it. Game franchise not great? Wait until it's something I enjoy again. I'd make a terrible sports fan, now that I think about it. You're supposed to be angry about everything, from draft picks to plays, and stick around and be miserable even if "your" team keeps losing.

Forgive me if I can't help but find it bizarre someone is focusing so much unhealthy obsession over a video game that isn't even out yet when there's still a 50/50 chance it could be good.
Then dispute them or ignore them. Why do those comments personally affect you so much that you have to devolve into trash talk and tell them to post elsewhere? If Papenbrook was putting others down and purposely trying to get a rise out of people, then I could see why you'd make that comment. But come on, is it really that big of a deal?

Whether the game turns out good or not isn't really the point. It's not that hard to understand how a Sonic fan could be displeased with the direction of recent Sonic games. Had people not bitched about The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword's linear design, we probably wouldn't have gotten Breath of the Wild.

I get that, but it would be a lot different if it was just non-stop bitching and no information being shared. I just find it ridiculous that anyone would get so worked up over inoffensive comments.

People were complaining about Sonic Mania and that game is fantastic. People complain just to do it.

In your opinion, sure. Just because a game is fantastic, doesn't mean there aren't things worth complaining about. I personally haven't seen anyone complain about Sonic Mania as a whole but I've definitely heard plenty of valid criticisms.

Valid criticism is one thing, but to nitpick about every little thing that's announced about this game, especially after admitting they have no intention of liking the game based off a few videos and not playing it themselves, is where people get annoyed. I dont understand how Sega is desperate by adding Shadow into a game as DLC when he's part of the actual story.

Apparently, the London Symphony Orchestra is doing their orchestral take of "Fist Bump" (which is Sonic Forces' main theme).

It sounds ... pleasantly alluring. It's a felicitously charming symphony with an embraceable melody and beautiful harmony. It's ... absolutely gorgeous.

So Sonic Stadium recently got to play Sonic Forces at EGX and wrote up their thoughts of the game and all I can say is...ouch.
https://www.sonicstadium.org/2017/09...n-impressions/

Keep in mind Sonic Stadium is run by long time Sonic fans that love the boost game play, so to see such a negative preview from them was a bit of a shock. If what their saying is true, then it's mind boggling just how much of a downgrade Forces is from Generations or even Colors.

Seriously, you're seeing a price tag as a bad sign now?

That's equal to 33.49 in US dollars, that's cheap compared to its current $39.99 price in the states.

It can go either way with price. Possibility one is that they either know it's bad or they don't have a lot of confidence in it, so the price is to attract as many people as they can before everyone figures out it's not great and sales drop off. That's the cynical possibility, but could be the case. When Ride to Hell: Redemption re-appeared out of the ether with a bargain basement price and next to no preview, it was not a good sign and the game itself bore that out. Possibility two is other principle, where you price it low to get people to try it and hope they like what they see so they'll buy later games. In this case, maybe with the goal of repairing Sonics reputation.

We'll see. It's about a month out. Though it does feel like the game is being held pretty close to the vest for being this close.

I love the idea of the level, Eggman retrofitting ancient ruins into a bustling Casino is such an Eggman thing he'd do...it's just a shame nothing in the level besides the background conveys this. Seriously, you could've replaced the background with a city and nothing would be out of place or lost. Why not let Sonic swing on those vines or have him bounce off cobwebs or something. There's nothing in this stage hasn't been done better before and where are the enemies? I only saw one and Sonic never even got close to it. I wasn't very fond of the physics in Generations but at least Sonic gained momentum when going down slopes...you know, something even the 8-bit games were able to do.

I really don't like being negative, but when the best level shown so far feels lifeless, bland and unoriginal especially compared to anything in Mania what am I supposed to express? The music was alright...so that's another positive I guess.

[Takunaga] has spent a lot of time going in deep on how [Sonic Mania] feels and how it moves,” game director Morio Kishimoto told me. “In that aspect, Classic Sonic stages have taken some reference to Sonic Mania because it’s been a very great help at looking into Classic Sonic.”
....and yet they couldn't get something as simple as Sonic gaining momentum down hills right. But they seem to compensate this by putting invisible speed boosters right before slopes. If Sonic Team is truly having trouble duplicating the physics and game play of the classic games, then they can ether ask members of the Mania team for help or consult the Sonic Physics Guide. But to be fair, some fans have noticed that Sonic gains speed down slopes when rolling like in Sonic 1, it dosn't excuse the invisible speed boosters, but it does mean Sonic can gain momentum down hills. But why would you base the physics on Sonic 1 instead of the much improved Sonic 2 and 3 & Knuckles? That would be like if Nintendo based the physics of the New Super Mario Bros games off the original Super Mario Bros instead of the much improved controls from Super Mario World- oh wait the joke is that's exactly what they did.

Here's some more game play:

The game is still 55 dollars Canadian, but I guess anytime something negative about the game comes out is music to your ears since you want it to fail so badly.

What is your favourite on screen portrayal of Sonic? It could be tv shows, movies or video games.

My personal favourite is Jaleel White's portrayal of Sonic in the first two animated shows (Adventures and SatAm).
