Mobile Apps for Digital Comics: TMNT vs Comixology vs IDW

I remember when the TMNT comic mobile app came out and it had feature that zoomed in on panels as you tapped. I’m guessing it was too expensive to pay someone to do it based on the amount of revenue the app generated. If my memory serves me, there was even a while where it felt like they discouraged you from using it with advertisements for switching to Comixology or IDW, but this may have just been advertising that they no longer were running the app themselves?

Questions:

Does anyone know how much Tom, Rhonda, and Kevin get for digital sales? I can’t imagine it’s much. I know digital streaming of TV and movies barely gives anything to anyone after the initial procurement of rights to show it, but if some of these apps are ran by the actual company that publishes the material, maybe it’s better?

And also, if you answered the poll, please state why you support one over the other.

I would be interested in a piece of advice about digital editions too. I'm reading the first volume of the Mirage comics in color with the Kindle application, it's fine, but maybe there's a better option ? I'd like to read the IDW tmnt comics too.

I didn’t even think about Kindle! Are there any features such as zooms or extra included material?

Not really a zoom : when you double-click, you can access cut pieces of the page so you can read frame after frame, but you can double-click and have an overall view of the page. Oh, and I forgot to mention I'm not using it on mobile but on pc, but it's certainly not that different : the pages are a bit small. It's readable, but … oh well, when you're used to the ancient books digitized on public libraries sites in high resolution, with great interface, the comparison is a bit cruel.

I'm pretty much exclusively on comixology until I can get my hands on a physical issue or book somehow.

Have you tried the TMNT app or any others?

For the Mirage run, I got the Ultimate collections in print and those are all the Eastman and Laird ones with the original duoshade black and white. I’m not sure if they exist in black and white past the Black and White Classics Volume 4. They only made it through the first 10 or 15 issues (that number includes the micro-series).
