Look up 9/11, the sinking of the Lusitania, Pearl Harbor, the Gulf of Tonkin incident, and pretty much any assassination from the past one hundred years, and you'll see that the stories used to explain these events at the time are not what actually transpired, as has been revealed with time. Now take that into consideration when examining any of the mass shootings that have taken place in recent memory, or even the current health epidemic.

Yeaahhh, we really need a different word for those, because actually "conspiring" to assassinate someone, etc, has become way different than, say, "Pizzagate" and other bats*** crazy crap people come up with that are nothing but lunacy.

I'm sure this is going on in other states, too, but... isn't it more than a little odd that around here in the Seattle area, they're announcing new COVID measures and mandates ahead of time about 1, 2 months out? Like, aren't we supposed to be hoping this "goes away" or gets better and not actively planning/hoping for it to just continue?

A lot of people quit my job after being forced back to work in the office after more than a year of working at home. A lot of people just don't want to come in, a lot of the older staff retired even though they would have worked later. I'm surprised a lot of people my age are quitting though, it's not like having no job is better than a job. Still need money after all.

I posted it in the other thread but as soon as they gave us a date when we needed to return to the office I found a new job that was work from home, I'm sure people are just searching for WFH jobs.

I feel like every other work from home job you need a special skill or experience in a certain subject, so my options are limited. Or it's a job where you have to call people all day and make sales or appointments and I don't want to do that either.

I really can't blame anyone. Not only is working from home "easier" and "more fun", but point of fact, most people I know who went back to work got Covid. Usually really quickly. They're all fine, but still, who needs that sh*t?

I mean, I go out multiple times a week to the gym and go shopping, and I've worked shows with about 300 people there for 3+ hours, and I went to see GNR and there were 40,000 people there and about 15 masks... and I haven't gotten it. I got a couple colds, but not Covid.

BUT, I can see how if you're going to the same place every single day, packed with people around you, for 8-12 hours at a time, your risk rises exponentially. For example, I don't know anyone who got sick from SHOPPING at Wal-Mart, but I know quite a few who got JOBS at Wal-Mart and then got Covid within a month or two.

Which is why I'm still milking that Unemployment tit for as long as they keep extending it. In the back of my mind, I know that once I do get a new job, that's when my Covid Number is finally gonna come up. I don't think it's gonna kill me, but I just plain don't wanna deal with it. Plus, it might not kill me, but it might kill my in-laws, if I get it and pass it to them. So technically I really can't afford to take the risk of going back to work right now.

Too bad I don't have any "work-from-home" skills. I took a few computer courses in high school but that sh*t's all Greek to me. I'm admittedly as brick-stupid about some things as I am brilliant at others.

Ah well. We'll see what happens. But yeah, I can't really blame anyone for trying to find a work from home job rather than a "Come sit in a petri dish for 8 hours a day and wonder if every cough is a death sentence" job. If I had the skillset for it, that's exactly what I'd be doing, too.

Anyone geeky enough to be in a forum is smart enough to learn a skill by googling it, look for a job that you're interested in and see what they require, There should be plenty of free courses online, I'm sure after a few months of research and study you can land a comfy job. Don't let yourself be exploited, screw the man.

I appreciate the vote of confidence, we'll see.

All I'm really good at is working out* and that's no longer a marketable skill. Or rather, it would be if I had a garage I could set up a home gym in. I could simply do "virtual training" like a lot of my buddies ended up doing. Some of them are actually making more money doing personal training via the internet than they did working at various gyms.

BUT, you kinda gotta live in a place that's equipped for that setup. Otherwise, it don't work. That would've been my first move, If Only.

*Some people tell me I'm good at wrestling, but I don't get booked all that much anymore, so I'm probably not that good. And even if I was, that gig pays sh*t. So that's not a "marketable skill" either as far as I look at it.

as long as people keep doing as they say, getting the vaccine, wearing masks, getting boosters, getting their 5 year old kids doped up on pfizer, there’s really not much incentive for big government to give up that power and control they have. mass non compliance is the only way out, but that seems like it would be very difficult to accomplish, at least half the population is completely brainwashed by CNN and still thinks this is really about a virus. let’s not forget joe biden promised a cold, dark winter. companies threatening to fire employees by a certain deadline if they don’t comply with vaccine mandates is pretty much them saying they expect this thing to go well into 2022. what about those who got vaxxed early on, shouldn’t their vaccines be wearing off by now? will people start getting fired for not getting the boosters?
