Looks like Disney is developing a live action remake of Hercules.

They're running out of films, we'll definitely get to atlantis.

I'd love it if they got Kevin Sorbo to play Zeus, sadly he's gone on too many racist tirades over the last few years so I doubt they'll asking him to do it.

I like Disney's Hercules but it'd definitely a flawed movie. I wouldn't mind if they significantly changed it up.

He himself, most likely white (greek / midterranian), Disney are not that far gone, I hope.
Other characters might get a race lift, though.

I would rewatch the whole Hercules and Xena series rather than another of these Disney's remakes.

Why does Disney hate animation so much?

Greeks can be black as the Disney argument over the Little Mermaid.

I think Disney did Greek Mythology wrong for the most part in the movie. Hades was never really a "Evil" or bad God. Death was a part of life, and Hades was just the circle of life like the Lion King would say. Than Disney late 90's movie comes in and boom they made Hades the villain.

It's a relatively time consuming process and the box office returns are expected to be lower.

  1. The Princess and the Frog
  2. Winnie the Pooh (2011)
  3. Bolt
  4. Meet the Robinsons
  5. Chicken Little
  6. Home on the Range
  7. Treasure Planet
  8. Atlantis: The Lost Empire
  9. The Emperor's New Groove
  10. Fantasia 2000

These are 10 of the 21 animated features Disney released in the past 21 years (not counting Pixar). They either did poorly or straight up lost money.

The following movies failed to quadruple their budget, so they didn't do poorly but were not a big success either:
  1. Dinosaur
  2. Lilo & Stitch
  3. Tangled
  4. Wreck-It Ralph
  5. Ralph Breaks the Internet

So out the 21 movies, 6 were really successful, 5 only did moderately well and 10 did poorly. Essentially, Animated Disney movies have a 25% chance of doing really well, 25% chance of moderate success and 50% rick of failure.

Oh come on, this didn't do good as a lot of the other Disney films that got confirmed for a live action film. They really are desperate here. We better get a Alantis live action film than.

I won't be surprised if they do this.

Yeah, this part really pisses me off, as the fan of Greek Mythology. Hades was probably the nicest of Greek Gods, but since he is associated with the death and underworld let's turn him into evil ugly freak.

It's like when moviemakers made Anubis evil in the Mummy Returns.

We also have to face facts, there really was like only 1 or 2 GOOD Hercules movies. And they both had Steve Reeves.

So Disney needs to set down to a Old Steve Reeves movie of his sword and sandal days and see what makes Hercules Hercules.

Yeah, maybe it's pedantic but I don't lump CGI in with "animation" either, or at the very least I'll use "CGI animation" as a qualifier. I know it's technically "animation" but I feel like it deserves its own categorization.
