Meh, not enough mentions of outlaw mudshows and cosplay wrestlers.

Wasn't that because of the Children's Television Act entering full force?

Writers relying on Deus Ex Machina to return to the status quo is one of my most hated tropes EVER.

I don't really understand how one can have so little imagination.

It's the same as ending every story by intervention of an army of the good guys all of a sudden.

Yeah, but the "F*ck Janela" stuff was on point, though.

RIKKI ROXX TRIVIA: I beat him in my first singles match ever, in a non-Title match when he was NWS Cruiserweight Champion. I earned a shot at his belt, which he conveniently lost to someone else the next night, and we never had another 1-on-1 match again.

Didn't they give you a shot at the belt anyway? That's kind of messed up you earn a contendership and they don't deliver on it even with a new champion.

Eventually. Way, way, way later on.

I don't know how to tell you this but there's no official record keeping or ranking system.

Nah, I'm just talking about what happened to Otto after Slott's Superior Spider-Man ended, when he came back using a back-up of his consciousness stored in an Octo-bot and he wound up being revived in a clone body by The Jackal (aka Scarlet Spider) that was young, athletic etc. He went on to be Superior Spider-Man again until he ran into an alternate universe Norman Osborn who exposed him publicly and threatened his girlfriend, so Otto made a deal with Mephisto to restore his original body and make him evil again so he could stop Osborn.

Sweet Mother, am I glad I gave up on that shitefest before it went too far. I mean, the CONCEPT was intriguing, but I knew after only reading the first couple of issues of that arc that it was gonna end in a clusterf**k. And apparently I was right. And I hate that. Pretty much sums up my feelings on virtually everything since OMD. The few bright spots since that travesty have been minor, at best- Mr. Negative, Anti-Venom, Renew, and a few side-plots and other minor characters. (I really enjoyed that female speed-skater with the helmet-cam robbing banks and doing parkour all over the place, but she sadly disappeared quickly. Same goes for that adrenaline junkie, Spidey-fan car thief/racer. Yeah, I am going waaay back for those two, but they were two of the very few highlights post OMD.) Sadly, most of what I've flipped through since then has been- sub-par, at best, or just plain depressingly dumb. (I could go on a rant here about Kamala, too, but she's another issue....)

Not by any fans with a shred of dignity or respect for the characters, it ain't.

Doesn't look too bad. Definitely some questionable decisions there but altogether I'm intrigued.

The art style is a definite throwback, reminds me in ways of the Ruby-Spears cartoon's art style. I kinda dig that.

I'm baffled by things like having Lobo be a part of Superman's origin story, but oh-kay, I guess we can do that. My wife's a huge Lobo mark so I know she'll be happy with the entire movie just because he's in it.

I kinda don't need yet another Superman origin story in my life but I just realized that for as many of these DC animated movies that they've done, they haven't really done that story in this arena yet, so I guess they're "allowed", it's just... it's like the guy does OTHER stuff besides just show up, learn he's Superman and then unveil himself. It's like most writers nowadays have little to no idea what to do next with him. But ah well.

I'll definitely check it out, looks better than some of the other recent DC Animated stuff. I hate that goofy belt, though.

Oh, yeah?

Screenwriter Tim Sheridan (Reign of the Supermen) has drawn inspiration from a variety of DC sources?Superman: American Alien and Superman: Birthright, with a touch of several others
That was a bad animated film, and those are two bad comic book stories.

This will still probably be pretty good. Just saying, it's like saying you can't be racist because you have a black friend, and come to find out it's Bryant Gumble. You're not winning anyone over by bragging about sh*t like that, y'know?

Probably pretty good. But geez, talk about saying the exact wrong things to get me enthusiastic. If that blurb was all I had to go by and I hadn't seen any footage, I'd be pissed.

Ryan Hurst who was Opie in Sons of Anarchy is voicing Lobo that's perfect. He traded in his motorcycle for a space hog I love it

I'd rather all these movies be standalone than building another universe.

I think I read last night that they cancelled the screenings of this in their virtual con for some reason.

Maybe to avoid piracy?
