Platinum Games (Bayonetta/Metal Gear Rising) making new TMNT game?

According to the gaf, a Platinum Games TMNT game has been rated.

Activision recently had Platinum make a Legend of Korra and Transformers games, so this is probably legit.

I've wanted a Platinum developed TMNT game for a while. Anyone who has played Bayonetta, Metal Gear Rising, Viewtiful Joe, Okami, Wonderful 101, etc. knows they're a fantastic developer. They're also working on Starfox Zero with Nintendo.

That's awesome news! Let's hope the gameplay is good and it's something that has more meat to it instead of being able to play through it in just a few hours.

As Powder said the designs are likely IDW inspired because of those skins in Tony Hawk 5. I was worried this game would be based on the movie in 2016 and I'm glad it won't be.

I will never buy a TMNT videogame with Turtle nostrils. I wouldn't mind a Nick universe inspired game though.

Come on, Platinum. You've developed some of the best games ON the Wii U! It's no new territory for you, nor is it more cost-effective to not develop for the damn thing. That's just depressing.

I read that the M rating in Australia is the equivalent of T on the ESRB scale. Color me excited, wasn't that platinum transformers game like extremely accurate to the original show? I'd love a modern cel shaded TMNT game, I don't care if it's based on the OT or not just give me a cool TMNT game. I would get it for PC/

But anyway, if it's IDW-inspired or uses IDW's style in an original story, that's fine by me. I was just really hoping it wouldn't be using the 2014 or Nick Turtles. Those already have the stink of shovelware associated with them, and that's the last thing a game like this would need.

Revengeance was a cute little balls-to-the-walls game. Personally I'd be more invested had they taken directly over for a sequel to OotS, with the same designs and continuation of the story.

But, this is fine too, if we're getting those IDW models from Tony Hawk 5.

The Mutant Melee and Smash Up games are definitely cool ideas to have for a TMNT game. I'm guessing this will be a beat em up of some kind which would be awesome but they tend to get bad reviews no matter how much fun they are. I think Platinum games making this game is probably the best thing that has happened to the franchise in terms of videogames since umm Konami in the 90s.
