When you play a "kids game" now and then and you jump on it for a few to do your daily quest and it's one of those rare times it includes a small arc-related quest for this NPC, so you go defeat the thing he wants you to take down because it's screwing with his scientific equipment, and you go back to turn it in and the NPC is all like...
Spoiler:

...and you have no idea what the hell is happening anymore.

But I laughed pretty good. Unless his research is starting to affect his mind (maybe?) I haven't a CLUE why he said that. Too bad I can't include the audio dialogue.

That too lol

1/30 - Got an old 2003 series book in the mail. It came from a few states away, and though I don't think "good" was quite an accurate description, maybe "acceptable" at best since it turns out that it's a former library book that has been moderately well loved... it was a nice surprise to see that it actually now came back to its original home state as the library it belonged to is in a town at the south border of my own little state and still bears its name on and in the covers.

Though now I wonder how it got to Indiana (where the seller was listed) or Ohio (where it seemed to actually ship from). Perhaps this wasn't it's first time on eBay.

Helping someone identify their pet turtle. A lady living in Spain had bought 2 turtles, supposedly both where Chinese three-keeled turtles, but one clearly was something else. She had visited a pet store and got a local name, so she wanted some better clarification.

Figured out she had a Florida cooter, and what diet and living needs it needed.

Pabst Blue Ribbon and a rusty trailer about three feet away from the swamp, generally.

I'm not the one who unironically designated a species of turtle as a... ahem... "cooter".

I only work with what people give me, but that sh*t's golden. Like golden truffles, served on a silver platter.

And "truffle" is ALSO slang for vagina, so we're right back where we started with "cooter".

I'm sincerely glad we had a chance to share this teachable moment. Please share what you've learned with others who aren't so fortunate as to have a friend like me.

Making me happy- got a lot accomplished today! Laundry is done, litter boxes done, kitchen cleaned up, and even managed to change over my holiday decor to (*gasp*) Valentine's Day. Both the tree and my front door are now fully dressed in red and pink! Tree looks quite pretty, with so many sparkly hearts and bead garlands. I'll take some pics of both and link to em in a bit.

I also managed to give Angel a bath with Mr D's help today, which was fun, lol! She MAAAAY disagree, but, y'know, cats. At least she is easy to bathe, since she just stands there and looks pathetic. Gotten so fat that there is a LOT more of her to bathe, though.....

And once again sprayed the sofa (hopefully for the last time) for the lingering remains of our long-running bug issue. They have been declining for months, but never fully eradicated, as I always seem to find just one more nest. But at least winter gave me a good excuse to wear leggings and socks all the time to keep them from biting. That has helped- no food, no breeding. Seeing far fewer hatch, and fewer adults as well, so it seems to be working. As well as the DE, but there are a lot of places I just can't use it. So the spray stuff (tea tree and mint seem to work best) is the go-to. But I'm nearly rid of them for good.

Well, I can totally see what they were driving at.

Each type of "cooter" has a tendency to withdraw its "head" into its protective covering when threatened, after all, amIrite?

...no, really, am I? I'unno jack sh*t about turtles. Cooters, yes. But not turtles.

Several says ago it was 4 degrees when I woke up. Today it touched low 60s this afternoon. Hardly normal (though it has been happening the last few winters ), but I'll take it. Didn't even need to take my jacket when I left the house around 10:30.

2/7 - Came across ladies TMNT undies via Ebay with an image actually kind of 2003/Mirage-ish inspired for once.

Normally I would not buy that sort of thing from eBay, but fairly inexpensive for the boyshort and many people have bought - these and other superhero ones in the same listing - without much complaint, so, eh, why not. They and the other ones look pretty cute, and coming free shipping from China I guess they'll show up someday as a surprise after I've forgotten about them. lol

Speaking of surprises showing up....

Hubby ordered me a Neca 1/4 movie Mikey at the beginning of the month, and today it finally arrived! All I can say is- WOW. He's HUGE, and absolutely gorgeous. Biggest/most expensive TMNT purchase yet, and easily the biggest figure/statue/whatever I've EVER owned. Was SO happy to see that box sitting by my front door when I got home!

I've been hearing about the NECA stuff for awhile. I'm going to have to check it out. I'm jealous without even seeing it, though. Lucky!

EDIT: Just googled it. Those look amazing. Now I'm really jealous. But happy they exist at the same time.

Lol yeah. They are frigging awesome. I wanted to get a set of the 7" ones GameStop is selling, but they are currently out of stock. So he said I could get one of the big ones instead. I will say the joints are a bit stiff, and not quite as articulated as I'd hoped, but I love it. He's also very heavy, especially on top. Love that he came with a pizza sluce and the pork rind bag, though!

They look great, but $100+ for a single piece is too rich for my blood. Plus, there is absolutely, positively no room for them here.

I really shouldn't have even bought the 7-inch figure set, all things considered, but it is what it is. I only plan to live once.

NECA does great stuff on the whole, but it's murder on the wallet.

EDIT: Just checked my email... CONFIRMED SHIPPED!!!

Might be here by Thursday! Sweet!

Yeah, that price tag was why I only got ONE. It was four of the little guys, or one big guy, and since I couldn't seem to find the 7" ones available, he went ahead and got me the "huge guy". I admit that he takes up a LOT of space, but since it's just the one, I can live with it. Besides, most of my collection is in totes, so he's kind of the centerpiece of my display, most of which sits on the top of my cabinet desk. And he really stands out up there!

The little things... took time out from a day of tasks to stroll in the sun to a hair salon. Always nice when someone else dries and styles my hair.
