What is IDW did Season X continuations?
I was chatting on Facebook with a friend and we though it'd be cool if IDW went and did like other comic series have done and do comic seasons of series.
What would think if IDW did a season 2 of Next Mutation? Or Fast Forward? Or continued the Fred Wolf series? Of Back to the Sewer? Or maybe even a comic squeal to any of the movies? I honestly think a season 2 of >> and NM would be kinda fun. There were story ideas that got scrapped when NM was canceled and >> was left for BttS. Lots of interesting stories could be told.

This is why I think they need to make a Tales Of The Turtleverse series. 12 issues a year could give the OT, Next Mutation, 4kids, etc some new material.

Yeah, THAT makes sense as well. I'm kinda surprised even Mirage never did a Tales of the Turtle-verse.

I actually prefer they don't do this to be honest. I usually dislike comics that try to continue a canceled TV show (like Buffy, Smallville, Star Trek, X-files, etc) and continue where it left off. Since its usually different people writing the comics than the show, it just "doesn't feel the same" to me. It winds up feeling like published fanfiction or something.
As much as I loved the original Fred Wolf cartoon, I don't need to see it back in comic book form. Besides they might as well continue Archie instead since its better suited for a ongoing continuity. |

Are you kidding me, Cubed? The Buffy and Angel comics were GREAT! So was the Army of Darkness series, Freddy vs. Jason, Star Trek, and some others that were done a few years back. I'd LOVE to see something like that for the TMNT- especially Powder's idea.

I wouldn't necessarily want a straight continuation, but I've always liked the idea of a Tales, where the stories could fit anywhere in the continuity of the series. If a few of them took place after the events of the series to tie up some loose ends, that's fine too. No sense limiting it to cartoons either, some of the stories could fit in with the movies (even the new ones) or Archie/Mirage/Image turtles.

I wouldn't mind seeing this. I'm always up for having more TMNT as long as it's good but lets go one step further. Lets say they made these into motion comics like the Walking Dead and countless others. That would be pretty neat.

As long as it didn't take away from the ongoing comic and the regularly recurring mini-series, I'd be fine with it.

This is a cool idea. Would you oversaturate the market with a FW toon book, Mirage book, and all that or just one series that focused on each version every couple of issues or even an anthology type book with shorts for a couple Turtleverses?
I'd be okay with a few different takes either as an anthology or an odd, every couple of issues spotlighting a different version or universe... |

I'm guessing it might be something they look into if Amazing Adventures fizzles out. It would be pretty cool. I'd even be up for Next Mutation Season 2, although I think the market demand for that would be about as low as anything else they could pick. There hasn't been 4Kids TMNT2k3 love from Nick in a long time, so I doubt that series would get acknowledged either. It was even shut out of the 30th Anniversary special issue.

I'm a little on the fence with this idea myself. I'd much rather see a continuation of the Archie and/or Mirage comics. A comic book sequel to the original live action films could work, but doing that with the original cartoon just doesn't sit right with me. I'd rather see Nickelodeon themselves actually produce an animated 11th season or movie of the 87 series with most of the original cast all reprising their roles, and hire a good James Avery sound alike like we had in Turtles Forever to portray Shredder.

You know, Mirage actually did provide us with plenty of canonical fodder for a 2nd season of Next Mutation courtesy of the old "Letters from the TMNT" that showed up on the TMNT website:

The 30th Anniversary special was such a nice treat for that reason, too. I'd love to see more along those lines covering more than just the different comic universes.

I could see Cudley or Don's time slip generator leading to cross-multiverse shenanigans where the Archie turtles meet their IDW counterparts. And I wouldn't mind seeing that universe again. But the Fred Wolf cartoon can stay in the past for all I care.

I could definitely picture Cudley having something to do with it. Hell, at this point we might as well figure that there is only one Cudley in the entire multiverse.

I'd read comics taking place in the setting of the CG movie, the 2k3 show, and maybe even in that weird future version of the nick show Out of the Shadows seems to take place in.
Oh, how about some comics based specifically on the old toy line, or maybe the old Konami games?

With the right creative team, this would be a lot more than just a cash-in for nostalgia. I'd support it.
