I think the turtles themselves were only like...one biologically.

They only spent a year in the sewers (sans Raphael, still on the surface with Casey), and have been together ever since for the past two or three.

Leo for sure would be hitting his early 20's if they wanted to count the years they already had as humans. At the time of their human deaths, they would probably have been seventeen, sixteen, fifteen, and fourteen (goddamn, Yoshi and Shen didn't waste any time ).

So Raphael and Michelangelo would be the only ones left that are actually teenagers.

So in the future they would be all be pushing 40. And it's the second-youngest who actually looks his age . Maybe Leo is a spirit after all.

Agreed on both counts - it would have been nice if Deviations had been included (as a bonus in Volume 7 as it had the space, unlike Volume 3 which already had about 4 issues more content) and if 20/20 does get included it would mean that Ongoing #100 would be the 200th issue overall in the main continuity (including the minis, macros, micros, annuals, Usagi x-over and Universe) and would also set up Volume 13 to end at this mark - a silly bit of reasoning to be sure, but it would allow for any soft-reset that could be needed from #101 on-wards or allow readers a solid point to walk away from the series if they so desired. That and it would keep anyone with OCD/ OCPD (myself included to a certain degree) happy!

This will be interesting. I wonder if it'll be part of one of those crossover trades or gets bundled in with other TMNT comics somehow. I'm hoping for the latter.
  • Speaking of the other 20/20 titles, I'm a little curious about the timeline for each of them.
  • IDW TMNT seems to be on a floating timeline, so 20 years into the future should just be 2039.
  • 20 years ih the past for Picard should be 2346, no argument there.
  • I haven't read the Jem book but from I get it should be around 2039 as well.
  • MLP is just a fantasy world for kids, so the real world timeline does not count.
  • What interesting is Ghostbusters though. I don't read IDW Ghostbusters but I know it does continue from the original movie, but I don't know how the timeline is. Does that mean 20 years in the future is closer to 2039 or 2004?

Great news!
I would have loved a story more in the future though (50 years?) with older turtles à la Mirage Future era.

Writers Erik Burnham and Tristan Jones have confirmed that the IDW Ghostbusters series begins in 1993 and is in the same continuity as the first two films and the 2009 video game (which is set in 1991) - the 2016 film and the cartoon series Real Ghostbusters and Extreme Ghostbusters have been confirmed as 'alternate realities and timelines' within the context of the series.

The current Crossing Over maxi-series is set in 1998, which would make the GB 20/20 issue set around now in 2018.

Also for Picard it would be 2344 as TNG spans 2364 to 2371.

Hey, great, now we get a taste of what an IDW "Volume 4" era might look like!

I had always estimated the boys to have been between 11 (Mikey) and 14 (Leo) going by the early flashbacks in issue 5 and the Foot Clan mini-series and if we go by the timeline Nines has used in the chronology thread they would be 15 to 18 around now - so probably late 30's in 20/20? Not that there will ever be any official confirmation and nor does there really need to be one.
