That's the problem with this new era of TMNT... there's nothing for new fans to grow into after they are "reeled in" by the latest cartoon or movie or whatever. It's all about the same.

Me too!

I've already forgot. Will the colored issues be released monthly and will we have to wait two years for the final issues?

It sounds like that's the case, yes.

I wonder if there will be any B&W releases. I'd much prefer that.

Put those all together in a huge beautifull HC and I'll be all over it.

Yeah, that'd be ideal for me as well. A dream book, really! I'm guessing it's not too likely, but for many of us, its lack of color was a big part of the appeal. Frank's heavy black/white contrast style was intended to be seen as-is. Color would take something away from that, especially if the guy goes against the light sources it conveys (further, if he colors characters wrong, which is 100% guaranteed).

Is the coloring in the 30th anniversary book with the new Image story there a indication of how it'll look?

No, that was Courtland Brugger. This is a different guy.

Even so, I loved the books and didn't shy away from them. They were just a little different, and while I didn't fully understand how all the pieces of the franchise fit together, given my young age and lack of internet, I never considered it a problem, even if it was a bit confusing.

If something from the Image or Mirage comics seemed different from the cartoon or the movies I was first accustomed to, it was just all the more fascinating. It was also something I could grow into and find myself appreciating more as I aged into my teens and left the cartoons behind for the most part.
Did your cousin give you the comics?

I think IDW is for a slightly older audience than what the current tv shows and movies target. Are you talking about something equivalent to R rated films? I like that idea. I’m not sure why a company wouldn’t want to put out products that could bring in more readers. Maybe the TMNT Urban Legends is a brand that could continue with all new material. Different from everything else.

Alright. Kind of same Mirage ingredients but has it’s own legs to stand on?

He didn't. I did constantly borrow the movies from his house, so he was a bit of a gateway into the TMNT for me.

Since this is the first time the IDW colorist will be doing Image, do you think he'll be given better instructions of how to color the characters? I mean he can't very well color the Savage Dragon pink or red now, can he? Or any of the other Image superheroes being miscolored.

I think this is the colorist. The above link has several work samples. I wonder if he is a member on the forums?

Why do the colors on his other books all look better than his work on City at War? Is that just me?

Pretty sure I'm not letting the pencils sway my opinion, and I'm a fan of Kevin's anyways. Maybe Kevin's pencils just work best in black and white, or maybe I'm not digging the color choices he's making. Hard to say. Obviously a very talented dude when looking at the scope of his work though.

I'd also prefer B&W for the new issues so they match the original ones. However, I think some of the very first issues could benefit from colors. I can't remember if it was in the letter columns or on these forums but wasn't it revealed that Fosco had been drawing in a style that left room for coloring on those first few issues? It made the art confusing at times because it lacked some definition, which hopefully the colors can provide.

I think Adam Guzowski did the colors for the City at War books. At least its not the fools who made the Shredder clones look like a box of crayons in the RtNY coloring.

Absolutely.

The Walking Dead makes bank and has been B&W for 175 issues now. Why can't TMNT reprints be B&W?

Would be nice if we got trades of the 23 issue run in black and white real fast while we wait for the color classics to come out once a month.
