How do you feel about artists who don't write their own songs?

Subject speaks for itself, but yeah.

Does it bother you? Does it make any difference whatsoever?

* If you're an artist who performs songs that others write, and perform them well, you're a talented artist.

* If you're an artist who performs songs you write, and perform them well, you're an even more talented artist.

This.

Who doesn't write their own songs asides from a lot of pop musicians anyway? Genuine question. I've never paid much attention to that.

Yeah, I grew up on Elvis originally, so it doesn't bother me too much. Although I definitely have a great appreciation for anyone who can do it all, and well.

Like I can sing alright, but I'm not equipped to write a song and not very interested.

You could also ask how we feel about songwriters who don’t perform their own pieces. Not everyone is talented in every way, so play to your strengths or so what makes you happy, just live your life

Why should it bother anyone? I think it's part of the late-1960's and early-1970's anti-commercial movement (at the same time as the Vietnam War, with protest songs).
