Season 7 News and DVD Discussion

ToSte just posted a link to the NYCC toy display. On display is Season 7. Season 7 will be four parts with each coming will a Mini Mutant sized version of the original figures.
http://www.toyark.com/news/teenage-m...comic-con-780/

I'm not sure if I like this. I've been liking the full season sets that don't take up that much room. Other the other hand, it's a neat idea.

EDIT:
Here's the breakdown...
Season 7 -Part 1 (Leo)

Season 7 -Part 2 (Mike):

Season 7 -Part 3 (Don):

Season 7 -Part 4(Raph):
http://www.toyark.com/news/attachmen...achmentid=3597
With other Mini figures (Hmm...maybe they aren't quite Mini Mutant scale...)

That's... odd. I wonder how much each volume will be. That's like 6 or 7 episodes a disc.

I second that, except the punching. I mean season 7 is 13 episodes, unless their putting the "European Vacation" episodes with them, there's 13 of those too, that would still only be 26 episodes. This **** is ridiculous.

I'm sure we'll end up paying 40 bucks for this in the end... and that's if we're lucky

Why?

So, step one: Buy DVD. Throw out/store figurine. Repeat three more times. Buy DVD fatpack case. Stew over how much money you wasted.

i'm just wondering who they're trying to market this to... have a lot of people really been buying these for their kids? i'm willing to bet the majority of us older folks who've been collecting the show on dvd don't want to spend money on another season split up 4 ways that includes mini figs.

hopefully there'll be a box with the whole thing in one box.

I think it's a death wish... not trying to sound hard or anything, but I'd whoop the ass off of the dudes who thought of/approved this ********.

On the up and up, the releases are finally getting some decent art.

Perhaps they will be packaging in the European Vacation episodes as well. Any word on a release date?

For us that collect both the DVDs and the toys, these are pretty cool. After all, these are the first brand new figures based on the original toyline (the rereleases don't count) since 1997.

Instead of 2k3 stock art, we now have TMNT 07 stock art. I fail to see the improvement.

Ow wow, you're right. Those poses are copied straight from the movie's promotional material, huh?

Well, at least there's a coherent background and the drawings are decent. It's the best cover "art" since season one, anyway.

Just noticed the DVD covers combine for one picture.

Personally, I have nothing againist the figures but making it four volumes is dumb. I'm sure the European Vacation episodes are in there, but what I want to know is if Planet of the Turtleoids is in there. I still even seen those episodes and I know follow up episode(s?) are in this season. I'm having a really hard time getting into the DVDs after missing thise episodes.

EDIT:

That's with the European Vacation side season, which I have no doubt will be included.

EDIT2:
Hey, with the European Vacation being the first half of the season, those who want these episodes right after volume 6 might be able to put them there if the episodes split right.

Can someone hook me up with the lionsgate e-mail adress while i'm still sick with rage? I really think that this is the single most asinine thing to be done to the TMNT (worse than the next mutation, we wish you a turtle christmas, and ninja tribunal), and they need to know.

So are they going to be released separately or at the same time? If there going to be released at the same time I can see the potential problem of a lot of stores either having low quantities or not having all four parts.

Anyway, this is obviously just a scheme for more money. I seriously doubt each part is going be less than $20. Anything more than $10 for these things (which they wont be) is crazy.
