Talking KaptainMyke's Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle TMNT Collection

What can I say? I love Ninja Turtles and always have since I was a young boy in the mid 1980s. I am most attached to General Krang and my favorite turtle is of course Mikey. My favorite April is Paige Turco but Megan Fox is waaaaay hotter. (sorry) My favorite Casey Jones is Elias Koteas. It's impossible for me to list all 650 items I own but I will share the highlights and holy grails here on the forum for you.

My collection is featured at the following places on the Internet:

TMNT #1 Second Printing. Peter Laird's personal copy from the Mirage Studios Archive

Spoiler:

TMNT #1 Second Printing.
Peter Laird's personal copy from the Mirage Studios Archives.
Mirage Studios, 1984.

Book was obtained from the private collection of Peter Laird via ebay mirage studios account (at the time was called "tmnt_toys" then changed the ebay account name sometime after to "mirage-studios") with provenance and documentation. Mr Kevin Eastman signed the book in March of 2015 in Seattle at the Emerald City Comicon in person. Kevin Eastman knew immediately whose book it was and where it came from due to the printer error and how the front cover walked off the printing press, as indicated on bottom right corner of front cover. It is a super rare one of a kind book with a printer error by which this book should have been destroyed but was kept by Mr Laird in the Mirage Studios Archives Basement for 30 years.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles #3
First Printing
"LAIRD VARIANT"
CGC 9.4 Yellow Label Signature Series
Signed and Sketched by Kevin Eastman
From the Personal Collection of Kevin Eastman

Very Rare
1985 Mirage Studios
limited run of 500 copies
In 1984, these were to be included at the New York Comic Con (NYCC). A printer mistake caused a very rare variation to happen in only these 500. Only about 30 are known to exist with a grading over 9.0

This one is Kevin Eastman's personal copy, as indicated on the yellow label from CGC.

Spoiler:

LEFT: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles #4, 2nd printing error. (error)
RIGHT: Tales of the TMNT #1 first printing. (correct)

Only 1000 of these were not destroyed. Peter Laird states he'd "be surprised if there are more than 500"

Someone at Mirage Studios failed when they printed the Tales of the TMNT #1 cover on the 2nd printing of TMNT #4 regular series cover.

1986 "How to Draw Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles #1"
First Printing
ERROR Edition, with no yellow color on cover.
MINT 9.4 CBCS
Certified Comic Book
White Pages

Misgraded by CGC. It was a 9.8 CGC Graded book missing error notations regarding the missing yellow ink. Sent off to CBCS for regrading and new encapsulation with a proper label. It is now a 9.4 grade LOL
