Sega Announces Mega Drive Mini Console, Coming To Japan This Year
http://www.gameinformer.com/b/news/a...this-year.aspx
During its annual Sega Fes event in Japan, Sega announced a new retro-style console called the Sega Mega Drive Mini. The console will launch in Japan this year. The company has not announced whether the console will make its way to the West, though it seems likely it will, though as the Sega Genesis Mini. We also did not get any information on which games will be included in the console. Sega recently licensed the console's appearance to AtGames for the Sega Genesis Flashback console, which included 85 games but suffered from both hardware and software issues.

I only had an SNES back in the day, but I'd be interested in this.

Grain of salt, but I've seen claims that this Genesis/MD Mini is actually using the same technology from those ATGames flops.
Soo... if so it serves no purpose other than I guess the fact that the shell will be designed/produced by Sega?
