Because there has been a new one for each book, and #5's have already been posted.

I'm not reading the book, but I kind of thought it'd be neat if this book actually just used the real CGI models of all the characters from the show to compose the comics. It would cut down on penciller/inker overhead and really make it seem like part of the Nickverse.

I prefer the art too, the comic would look boring with the same CG as the show.

Yeah, I like the 2D style. It works much better for the comics than CG models would, IMO.

Not to mention secure them from Nick in the first place, if Nick would even allow that. Perhaps the biggest hindrance, though, would be being limited to pre-existing elements from the show. Creating extra characters, new environments, etc., is one of the most time-consuming and costly elements of CGI animation. This comic, on the other hand, can do whatever it wants with those. It's a nice idea, but hardly any more practical. Also, I love the 2D rendering of the Nickelodeon show's art style this comic gives us. Also, also, you really should give the book a try if you've been enjoying the Nick version of the Turtles at all. I too thought I was going to pass on this just on the principle of not really needing an additional, kid-oriented story every month, but there's really something to be said for getting a fun one-off like these in your stack of comics. It's one of those books where it's easy to feel like you got your latte's worth of money. They're as sharply written as the show. |

But it being in 2D means that more artists get to be employed, which is a good thing!

Not to sound like I'm sucking up to the poster above me, but one of the main reasons I enjoy these comics are because of the brilliant coloring. I've also always liked Brizuela's art, and the two together just make it wonderful for my eyes.

Fishface? YESSSSSS!
Are these comics canon? I'd like to think they are. |

I don't think it's canon, but it does follow the show. It's been good so far and doing it`s own thing, which it needed. Can't wait to see this issue.

Apparently this issue is going to cover some of Fishface's past. |
