Massive journalist layoffs (LA Times, Sports Illustrated, TIME, etc.)

https://www.foxbusiness.com/economy/...ffs-start-2024

One excerpt:

"Ad hoc caucuses within the Los Angeles Times Guild designed to represent diverse communities within the newsroom will be "decimated" by the liberal paper’s decision to lay off at least 115 staffers this week, according to the Guild.

Chris Argentieri, the Times’ president and chief operating officer, wrote in a memo to staff that the "economic reality of our organization is extremely challenging" and that, "Despite our owner’s willingness to continue to invest, we need to take immediate steps to improve our cash position."

The LA Times Guild has blasted the layoffs, arguing they've hit reporters from diverse backgrounds particularly hard."

As if anyone needed reminder that all this progressive screaming, was just virtue signaling and as soon as real money on the line, commie show is over.

Also, economy is amazing during Biden times, according to the same diverse activists, is it not?

It turns out they either have to actually do real journalism again (not activism) or at least do stories people are actually interested in buying.

They're incapable of that.
Old school media have mutated into beast working for clicks and emotions, which means you need to make a mountain out of molehill.

Honest reporting and actual discussion are opposite of that.

Or the fact that print media purchasing across all realms is just down in the last five years anyhow...

Hollywood and the mainstream media are both currently experiencing the symptoms of a culture shift, in reaction to the extreme left and “woke”direction we’ve seen them push over the last handful of years in the west.

Bottom lines are finally setting in, data shows where the money is being wasted, and times are changing once again.

This and problems with a global economy, which are also consequences of the left politics and COVID.

But I'm not just talking about newspaper. ALL print media, magazines for all interests and geekdom, journals, even books to a degree... you can say it's leftism or wokedom for certain newspapers, but everything has gone down in the last five years. Comics as well, but depends on the brand.

Love how even in the reality of their death throes, the irony that their death rattle is a gurgling cry that "diverse journalists are being hit very hard." Even though layoffs hit everyone with equal unemployment. I just think it's funny. The Power Rangers generation of the workforce. "Woe is me".

You guys will be the longest lived generation in history and on your deathbeds at 115 years old you'll be squealing about how the real world diverged from the equal-but-colorful-armor you watched on Power Rangers as they fought rubber monsters on screen and you never figured it out. And then your old heads will turn to your nightstand where you still have your 21st place spelling bee trophy from 1995 and you will smile at that small act of "justice" in the world.

Right? Should be more like "Massive layoffs of Social Activists (LA Times, Sports Illustrated, TIME, etc)"
