So, 2018 is only about slightly over a month away now...

...it feels like 2017 started just yesterday, doesn't it? Yet, it's reaching its end already. Yep, time flies.

I know there's still Christmas left for the year to be done, but you don't have to reply to this thread already. There is no time limit.

Well, 2017 has mostly felt like the fallout of 2016. It's been a quite uneventful year on a personal level thus far. I barely remember what I did during Winter and Spring this year. It's been a quite hot year, though. Maximum temperatures reached very high levels here from June to October. Makes me wonder what will happen to the climate and the environment in the future.

What do you expect for 2018? Good things or just more of the same? I dunno what to expect. Life can be unpredictable at times, so I won't bother with personal predictions or anything. As far other things... I wonder what new stuff will come out on the Switch and if I'll be able to buy one in mid-late 2018. 2018 will also have the World Cup again. That's always an exciting time.

The decade is getting closer to the end, as you can see. And we're closer to 2030 than to 2000. Imagine that!

I always get a bit freaked out during these last few months.
It’s hard to believe the year’s almost over, and it always feel like I didn’t accomplish anything during that time, and that the time that is left’s running out really quickly.

For some reason, I’m feeling a bit optimistic towards 2018. I’ve got a feeling that it’ll be a good year for me, for whatever reason.

I know that feel. But oh well, it's a slow journey... I guess life is like One Piece in that respect.

I still feel like 2010 was only yesterday. Can you believe we're nearly at the end of this decade already?

Only 2 more years and then 2020 already. Holy hell, what happened to this decade? Did 2010-2017 just fly by for anyone else? It's easy to forget the early 2000's are over already.

and there he is sorry Cubed, I was surprised it wasn't your thread too.

Yes, agreed on the decade. We're all so busy in routine day in day out that another year goes before we know it.

I just find it weird the 90's and 2000-2006 or so felt "so long" but after that every year is flying by.

Everytime we hit Christmas or New Years I'm like, "Wait, it's been a whole year already? I remember celebrating New Years like it was just a few months ago."

What's more shocking to me is how people are so flabbergasted at the normal passage of time.

You know what's funny? Luffy has not found the One Piece yet... nor will he find it anytime soon.

Nor will Ash Ketchum ever grow older than 10 years old.

The boy literally defies the laws of physics, he says 1 year has passed since he began his journey in a Johto special, yet is 10 at the beginning of Black and White, 3 regions later.

And Bart Simpson will forever be a 4th grader as well. And Lisa a... 2nd/3rd grader?

Probably because he saw Ho-oh at the beginning of his journey, the legendary Pokemon capable of granting immortality and eternal happiness.

Cool theory... explain how Bart and Lisa don't age now, please. I assume Brock and Misty haven't aged a bit either.

Also didn't some Robins age... but Batman remained a man in his 30s?

DC and Marvel comics also reboot every few years just so Batman, Spiderman, etc. never get too old.

That's basically the problem with any series designed to run forever without an ending. Bruce Wayne has been like 30-35 years old for like 70 years.

Yeah, Spider-man stopped aging around 30 too. And Flash Thompson actually served in Vietnam, but they don't reference that anymore. Superheroes live in a weird time vortex. That's why eventually, it gets too convoluted and they have to reboot the entire universe. Anyway, bring on 2018. It's going to be a great year.

i just want something good in the personal life to happen.
i had a major panic/anxiety attack in february and had to all but stop driving by myself because of it. and it's been a long time in the making.

having to rely on others to take you places is no way to live either. AND I hit 40 next year. at this point i'm about ready to do what my old barber suggested. Become a monk. because all they apparently do is contemplate the universe, stay silent, and drink beer all day according to him

sigh...i'd be happier for other people's successes if i could make a few of my own happen.
