The turtles can definately be declarative heroes. They aren't much part of society.

You know...in IDW, Donatello never actually interacted with Krang. Never. Leo and Mike have had the most interaction with him, and that was only in combat.
He maybe was in the same room as him twice, but they never talked or engaged in combat. Don did mastermind the defeat that made it possible to capture him. And yet he ultimately ends up being the one to interact with the Utroms more than the others. They never met and thus Krang never suspected him. For as big of a threat that Krang was, they never really interacted with him the same way they did with Shredder. Things weren't quite as personal. So I can only sit back and wonder what their experiences of Krang's comrades talking about him would be like. They've only really known him as a dangerous megalomaniac warlord who pontificates too much. Which he is. But it would cool to see at least Donatello hear from Ma'riell's perspective of him. She seems to have the least bias toward him. "Yeah, he was an aggressive nut, but when I knew him, he wasn't a cracked aggressive nut."

I've always wondered what the Rise!Turtles would look like if their masks were removed.
Finally, I found my answer. Spoiler:

Mikey looks like a little video game goblin or something, can't decide if it's unsettling or adorable.

Video game goblins, ROFL! Oddly enough, you're right. And it's- weird. They need to put the masks back on, fast! Though the marks on Leo..... I do like the idea of them having those.

But definitely not how I'd have gone about those marks personally... Bleh. What's wrong with a simple little stripe across the temples, under the mask... On the rare occasion it's seen that would be cute. Why they gotta make it weird. It's red eared, not faced.
edit:It's almost like they sorta took the scar PD Leo has since the placement is kind of identical, and then changed the idea into a red stripe instead of a scar. Makes me curious if it started out that way. Goblin. lol Well that's probably better than Shrek face. This bunch are rather... unimpressive and nondescript sans masks. As could be expected sadly. Leo's the one with the blue-handled sword (which should be a dead giveaway).

Thought folks would get the joke. You know about masks being the only way to know what turtle your looking at. I guess it’s more difficult than I thought to deliver a joke. Dang internet. They obviously have very different body types with or without masks. People should easily know them apart. My bad dude.

Forgot to get a before pic of the poor beat up pillow buddies Donnie from my now-former job. But I finally got to my little project to try to fix the guy.
Had been hanging around the store a long time, primarily because he'd had a loose seam in his arm that created a large hole/open gap. I never had the heart to RTV (return to vendor) him. And then during liquidation some jerk went and tore off (and stole?) his mask... which of course also have the pillow buddies' eyes embroidered on! Grr! (Hated to see him get thrown out at that point, so after asking my manager I was able to get him for just sixty cents.) But now with my meager sewing skills his arm is patched up good and I gave him new eyes made of felt, glued to him this time, and gave him a new mask. Not perfect, but I'm happy with how it turned out. Luckily I still had part of a bag of fish tank filter fluff material - exactly the same stuff these guys are already filled with - so I was also able to add a little to his arm. |

Thank you
Do the Turtles ever have to take a lint roller to the furniture? I mean, when you have a parent competently covered in fur, that's got to get annoying... Add in the times April has lived with them for a bit in at least a couple different versions and they probably get fed up with the darn mammals clogging the drains. |

Either that or he's a fan of Sephiroth from Final Fantasy VII.

Indigo does have a point though. Splinter would shed a LOT in spring......

Turns out rats don't really shed the way we think of other animals doing. So that might not be a problem.
Plus rats are just so fastidious in general, the turtles might not notice until he suddenly has a bald spot on his neck or something.
