same here. I'd pay anywhere from 40-60 probably go as high as 80 but yeah don't like these enough to throw down $120 although extravagant

Nothing can be compared to the Playmates statues, they're a rare case. They're old. They're highly detailed. They represent Mirage comics. They had a small run. The sideshow statues have gone up in value too, of course, but they also represent the brand properly by having a look that could be indicative of almost any version of the property up to the point of their release. These pieces are small, stylized fan-art, essentially, which is going to turn off a lot of people, clearly. There's no way in hell they're gonna do the kinda numbers or after-market prices that their predecessors have.
Yes, playmates versions are old and rare, sideshows has only been out for 5 years and theyre doing the same numbers it took playmates to accumulate in 10 years time. If Good Smile Company decides to mass produce these edition sizes to 3k or more, then they have less of a chance to make those numbers of what PM and SS have been pulling in. Prices will stay low while the older versions will hold their value because there arent a lot of them flooding the market.

At $120 a pop and being what we pay for collectible statues currently, is like using toilet paper and wiping our butts with. Those prices are nothing. And at 1/6 scale, these are the same size as playmates versions. The style may turn you off, but theres a lot of us TMNT collectors begging for any TMNT statues to be made, regardless of price to a certain extent. And the ones that missed out on sideshows or playmates versions, some arent willing to pay $2k-$3k prices. But at GSC prices, no doubt will be hot sellers. Theres already a growing positive reception on these GSC TMNT collectibles.

I may not have a vast amount of knowledge with your collectible toy figure aftermarket prices, but I certainly know what Im talking about when it comes to high end collectible statues. If you'd like to gain a perspective from the statue community, go here:

They're very meh to me.

They look like fan art. Why not make statues based on accomplished and classic TMNT artists such as Dooney, Farley, Berger, Lawson, Talbot, etc? We had the playmates statues based on the original Eastman and Laird run, however their styles totally change through the years also, so how about some latter day Eastman and Laird? Or go the Adventures route and give us some Allen or Mitchroney. Or want to keep it contempary? Plenty of greatness coming from IDW including Dan Duncan, Ross Campbell and Santalouco...

But what we are getting are very low down on my want list, and look a lot like fan art made into statues. Not a fan.
