I've heard somewhere that the extended cut of the film will have this song before Baloo attacks Kaa. It's nice to know she will have a bit more screentime in the blu-ray release. I felt that Kaa was the only character who was a bit underused in the film.

A bit? She was grievously underused.

I had been dearly hoping they would give a little bit more to Kaa's original routes as Mowgli's oldest and most curmudgeonly teacher, but I knew it wouldn't happen.

Come on this is Disney lol, I don't think we are going to see a non-villainous Kaa until the 2018 jungle book film.

I think Kaa could've been portrayed as a troubled character who one hand wanted to help Mowgli but has to fight her instinct to devour him. If she was set to be in another scene, I think a good way would be to have her appear during the scene with louie and the monkeys as she did in the book. However, though, I think her screentime in the extended cut is enough with the song and the telling of Mowgli's backstory.

I'm happy there wasn't much of the snake because she sucked.

Would have preferred this to "wanna be like you" from King Louie....

that part was kinda awkward to me..

I think the big flaw with that was Christopher Walken singing it . You're just asking for awkwardness when that happens.

I agree! I haven't seen the movie yet, I will eventually. But I've listened to the songs and all of them just aren't my thing. I really love jazz music though so the original certainly is more up my ally music wise.

Those puppets were creepy, lol. It's incredible what can be done on computers (and a high budget).

Any news on the WB jungle book? Isn't it supposed to come out this year?

Not really. It recently got a new title - Mowgli.

Still scheduled to be released in October.

I'm looking more forward to "Mowgli" than the 2016 Jungle Book. I really liked the 2016 film, but it was not groundbreaking for me in the same way as the 1967 film, or even the original stories by Kipling were.

Nostalgia Critic posted a review of the 2016 Jungle Book, and despite not agreeing with him overall (I think he gives the film alot less credit than it deserves), I believe he made alot of valid points about specific flaws which can potentially be fixed in the upcoming October film.

Shredder and Krang combined had the biggest arsenal of any villains in all of the cartoons.

I hope Mowgli doesn’t grow up too much in this sequel/spin-off.

I love the Jungle Book live action film more than the toon, it’s probably the best Disney Remake so far after 101 Dalmatians. Maleficent who?

Are you referring to the planned sequel of the 2016 film or the 2018 Warner Bros film?

If its the former, He'll only grow as much as Neel Sethi, meaning we will almost definetly see a more mature teenage Mowgli in the sequel.
