I mean, an artbook is cool and all, it's just that I'm not sure it's a good idea to make it part of the same collection as comics trade. Why not Tales vol 1 in black and white? That would go along perfectly as part of the Ultimate Collection.

The Purple Dragon street gang folds under The Foot Clan so that would tell me you are suggesting Hun wrestles back control as a result of the Triceraton invasion.
I remember him saying that, but I think this arc is hinting that Splinter will soon be under the influence... or, at least, manipulated without realizing it.

...

Who's to say JENNIKA isn't Rat King's pawn!?

But that's a good call...we need to be keeping a book of predictions and guesses.

I second that. Not a fit at all under the Ultimate Collection name. But to make it it’s own thing may result in less sales. Calling it #7 gets the completionists (those with 1-6) to purchase it at least.

I'm still contemplating whether to buy these new hardcovers. I'd have to sell off all my other trades and I'm not sure it's worth the hassle

I buy the floppies for my personal collection, but by the IDW Collection hard covers as gifts for friends. Best way to get people who are into Ninja Turtles but don't want to "work at it" to read the IDW comics.

Especially for reading story arcs like "City Fall" with all the micro-series issues weaving in and out of the main ongoing...

Not sure about the purple. It’s already been used.

I love this collection. These hardcovers are very easy to display and read. I have several of the single issues. However they really are so difficult for several reasons. I can’t even.

It's a different shade of purple.

But yeah... same basic color. They also did gray for Splinter and a slightly darker gray for Shredder.

Yeah it’s not a huge deal. I have all so far and will keep getting them unless something unexpected happens. It would have been cool to see some more variety in the colored spines though. I wonder if we’ll get slight variations on red, blue and yellow? Shredders could have been all black. With maybe a little gray or red.

edit:
If anyone is interested in what the next few volumes will collect...

Vol 6 Shredder
Collects the Mutanimals mini-series, issues #45-50 of the ongoing series, the 2015 Free Comic Book Day issue and the Casey & April mini-series.

Vol 7 Mikey
Collects issues #51-64.

Vol 8 B & R
Collects the Bebop & Rocksteady Destroy Everything mini-series, TMNTUniverse issues #1-8 and #65-66 of the ongoing series.

Well, they're almost caught up! And once that happens, the wait for IDW to release enough material to fill one up might end up with only one volume a year.

I think it'll be at least two or three more volumes to catch up.

We're up to issue 80 in the ongoing which ends the Triceraton arc, but Universe is over 20 issues, and there's still the Dimension X 5 parter to collect, the second Ghostbusters crossover, Free comic book day issue, maybe the Usagi crossover if that's included, among other things.
