I'm a conservative. I've hated religion and renounced it since a kid cause it didn't make sense to me then, and doesn't now. I'm not hateful even when someone is hateful to me (most of the time I ignore them.).

I feel like most of this LGTB stuff is derangement nonsense. I'm ok with LGB. But anything else after that is knew age 'pay attention to me, ree' nonsense.

People are People. I admittedly generalize as a rule but face-to-face I take individuals as they come.

I mean it's like how I KNOW all chicks are gay but when I meet one who swears they're not and we actually get along, I'm perfectly fine letting them live in denial and I don't try and push too hard.

See, something we agree on. But even for those who are assholes, it stems from being religious more than it does from being conservative. We might not have Baptists and all those other hardline offshoots but we do have to deal with Jehovah's Witnesses over here, including some of my stepfather's sisters, and you should hear some of the putdowns I've had to deliver over the years. Absolutely zero tolerance for their pushy crap.

Disclaimer: I do own two Bibles, one in Portuguese and one in English, but then again I own a sh*t ton of books in my home library that I've never read and don't think I ever will.

There is a JW church near where I live. For some reason they seem to keep their propaganda campaigns to the nearest train station, like they don't even bother to spread out.

edit: So... with TS Ian having now formed and the forecasting so far sounding like it's expected to nail Florida as a pretty strong hurricane... if it rips FL a new one and DeSantis goes crying for help, I wonder how he'd react if all those jobless immigrants were then shuttled off and sent to him to lend a hand in the clean up.

He and FL would get their help, two can play that game by trading them around, would save tax dollars and budget and they can earn their stay for the time being...

You're "not" misconstruing but say I'm wishing a hurricane on people, sure. The only thing I offered is that the people he is immorally using as political pawns are sent to help if FL needs it. So it's wrong to at least get them involved with something positive for this nation if they are going to be here? Put them to work to earn their room and board? Why, because he wouldn't want them there? Oh well. And so easy for you to give a damn about what that guy wants, rather than the situation of those people or what actually goes on here, when you aren't here. I got second hand experience of what JW was like as a good mate of mine grew up in such a household (but he was never one himself). Ditto I used to date someone from a Mormon family (but she was oestracised as she was Catholic instead) to understand that religion better too.

The thing that irks me the most is their stance on blood transfusions and other medical procedures. One of my stepfather's sisters lost a perfectly healthy daughter at a young age and strongly suspected the girl had been deliberately poisoned by a neighbor but still didn't agree to an autopsy to make sure. I'm not a father but if that were my baby girl lying dead, I'd absolutely want to know how and why. It's just a bizarre cult with a bizarre set of beliefs.

I dont know if anyone else is paying attention to this but...the mass migration is well underway and TX is transporting people to the Sanctuary Cities of their choice and now...New York is trying to maintain their borders and have locations of entry for people and they are becoming overwhelmed because of the mass of people coming in.
