Somebody is either completely retarded on their team or they just used this as a "reason" to get rid of him, while the real reason was something else.

I hope he didn't write any of the episodes I like. Like "Magic to Make the Sanest Mad" or whatever that was called.

"More details about the incident are known. Walter Mosley was indeed in a writers' room when he told his account. And it now is known that this was by design as everyone in the room was being asked to share their experiences w/ police. So this wasn't some random outburst by him by the water cooler in earshot of everyone that a lot of Disco defenders are saying it as to and why they think it was unprofessional and inappropriate. He was asked to share an account. And he did.

The writers at CBS don't want to hear diverse accounts. I mean, if you can write it in a script but can't say it... ummm... if you write it in a script SOMEONE isn't someone eventually going to say it?

And the dumpster fire known as CBS Star Trek continues... to boldly flare up like no dumpster fire has ever gone up before."

Discovery can limp along or succeed wonderfully or crash and burn.

Just let Star Trek Picard be fvcking awesome and not a clusterfvck, and I will be a happy happy Trekkie. (And then give me similarly awesome Star Trek Bajor and Star Trek Janeway shows.)

I'm really worried about the first... third or so of Picard. That's when Kurtzman was still running around, unpoliced.

Considering almost 100% of The Next Generation's first season sucked more than a vacuum cleaner factory, I'm not hugely worried.

Hell, if ST: Picard is as good as ST: Discovery, I'm satisfied for a first season's debut. 50% good is a good starting point, and unlike Discovery, Picard HAS to build off what Kurtzman did with the 2009 movie (i.e., blowing up Romulus). So they're a little bit hobbled no matter what.

Just like Discovery opened the door to Picard, Picard can open the door to other producers and actors doing other 25th century shows... diverging even further from the Kurtzman / nuTrek stank.

Eh, I'm actually not really impressed with that episode. They pushed the boundaries, sure, but story-wise... eh.

The only episodes I really care about in the first season are:

Encounter at Farpoint

The Battle (Picard on the Stargazer)
Hide and Q (Riker gets Q powers)
Datalore

If it weren't for John de Lancie, Season 1 would be even slimmer pickings.

DS9 would end up repeating the same story (sort of) with the Founders on Earth.

You didn't care for "The Neutral Zone"? That episode was great.

To far greater effect, I would submit. Maybe if TNG had ever followed up on those little parasites... as it is, it's just kind of a weird one-off story. I like it okay, but the whole "blow up this dude and see his chest cavity" just feels really weird tonally for Star Trek.

The 21st century humans bored me. I would've liked the episode if it were JUST about the Romulans returning.

I'unno man. Janeway was lookin' kinda chubby last I seen. I don't think anybody needs that.

Maybe she drops some pounds to get the Starfleet uniform back? Actors and actresses transform their bodies all the time if they want the role in question.

They better. I only want good-looking people on my TV. That's my leisure time, I don't want to be in any way inconvenienced.

More from CBS wanting Star Trek to be "younger" and "more relevant to people."

https://deadline.com/2019/09/cbs-cre...om-1202733100/

Also, between CBS and Viacom they hope to make for Star Trek a "virtuous eco-system." I don't know what that means.

It means they can make movies using the same cast from the TV Shows. Something that has been missing since the split originally. Now they can actually do TV Shows and movie and it all be canon.

You see the Trill? About a 100% chance they'll feature Dax in this, 13 bodies later or so.

How long do the Trill hosts live anyway?
