Since Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird are from New England, why didn't they write the turtles living in the Boston sewers instead when TMNT debuted back in 1984? Just a thought.

Inspiration for TMNT included X-Men, Daredevil and Teen Titans, all set in New York. It's just a very common setting for American Superhero comics.
