I'd be happy to check out at 70....unless i was in perfect health, then i wouldn't mind living a little longer.

All I want is to die in my sleep with my reputation in tact, and all my limbs and body parts still there.

My great-grandmother only got close to 90. But she wouldn't have made 100, since she had Alzheimer's, and had it bad.

Fortunately, none of her children (grandmother, great aunt and uncle) aren't showing any signs so there's hope for me and my mother of not falling down that awful path.

Hi,

A little history first. I was hired to train three of the Turtle, Josh,
Lief & Michelin. We had three weeks before they were to report to
Wilmington, NC. The location they were shooting at. Mr. Pat Johnson was the
fight coordinator on that shoot. I only worked with Elias Koteas
two or three times before he went down to become Casey Jones. We worked on
hockey, cricket bat and baseball bat techniques based on the principles of
the jo, bo and sports.

1 - Training in costumes: This was one of the biggest hurdles for the
actors. There were three costumes used for each Turtle. One was a detailed
acting costume, a second was a stunt costume and the third had all the
wiring for the robotics of the facial movement/expressions. One of Mr.
Hansen's experts controlled every facial movement for one character. The
stunt costume had more freedom of movement. All of them were very hot. They
were made of foam rubber.

2 - Costume difficulties: We were only allowed the hands for Raffa because
his was the most difficult weapon to learn and use, the sai. They were
extremely secretive about the costumes and look of the Turtles throughout
every phase of the movie. They didn't want ANYONE to see what they looked
like before the trailers hit. A special pair of sai had to be built for
Raffa because of the large size of their costume hands. The prongs were
much wider to accommodate his two thick fingers and thick thumb.

3 - I wish I could have been on set during the entire filming, but That was
Mr. Johnson's job. I was on set for the scene they shot in the New York
subway station where Raffa got his sai back and rescued April. The
difficulty there and I am sure throughout the shooting was
the heat inside the costume. The stunt double playing Raffa could only
work/film about one minute. Then he had to unzip his costume and stand in
front of a fan to cool off while constantly drinking water because he was
prespiring so much. It was really hot in the tunnel that day.

4 - Fighting style: Mr. Johnson asked for basic karate training. I pulled
principles and techniques from my Okinawan and Japanese karate training.
Plus I taught them their kobudo,
weapons training. I still have the training program that I put them through.

5 - Ah yes, the Power Rangers: The martial/stunt guys in PR work really
hard. I know a couple of them. The problem is that most people confuse what
they see on film and TV with true fighting arts. Most of the stuff you see
on the screen would get you hurt if you tried to use it as real
application. Try doing a jumping spinning kick in a crowded subway car.
Their arts are more Chinese wu shu based then karate. They have proven why
the Korean martial arts became so popular in the U.S.. The jumping spinning
techniques are dynamic and read well on camera. The P.R. created the blend
of gymnastics and fighting arts that has changed the way people want to see
fights performed. All the wire gags (airiel work.)

I can now add landscaper to my future resume. Our apartments' lawn guys haven't been doing their job so today Mr D and I had to get outside and completely trim back the bushes in front of our building so I can start putting up my Halloween display outside. I usually do a graveyard scene with the small space out front, but the bushes were so overgrown they were sticking out into the lawn space and making it almost impossible to decorate. So out came the scissors to cut them back. (No hedge clippers unfortunately.) Pretty decent job if I do say so. Between us doing the yardwork and the fact that our AC still hasnt been fixed after nearly a month, we should get a discount on our rent....

I meant remembering back when there was no digital TV, on demand, downloading etc. Having to explain regular TV one day because they have more options. Anyway it wasn't an interesting thought to post really ☺

I try to eat a lot but always get so full I stop. Even at all you can eat buffets in restaurants I can never eat much more than usual. I guess this is why I've always been thin my whole life, my body just doesn't let me eat more than usual.

I feel ya, man. It's REALLY annoying how people give me **** for being thin. They always assume I'm starving or something. No morons, If I ate twice as much as I do now I'd have no money left and would eat every 30 mins. No stomach could handle that. Is it so hard for people to understand that people have different metabolisms?

I'd like to eat things that I love but local stores stopped selling, esp some of them after carrying for a long time. (Though one I suspect stopped because they were bought out by another company. )


Two top things...

WisPride cheese spread... First the company changed the container sizes years ago, making them tiny. Now I can't find it at my stores at all and it can't be ordered online. I big crock of that would always be a welcome holiday gift.

Also, Kashi's frozen meals. There was one I was pretty addicted to, but didn't buy often because they're expensive. And I think because of the cost, and people not buying enough, the stores eventually stopped carrying it.

When will companies figure out that pricing things a little more reasonably might actually get them more profit? It isn't that people don't like it, it's that people have a budget and the price doesn't fit well into trying to get the most out of the money spent. (Though it probably doesn't help that the store that carried it was one of the pricier local grocery stores to start with. And they're the ones who bought out a cheaper store - giving us two of these more expensive stores nearby - and stopped carrying my cheese spread!) It's one of those things I'd often looked at and thought next time... Or that maybe I could catch it on sale later. (Not that that ever happened.)

My Walmart of course never carried the frozen meals, just still the cereals, bars, etc... If they carried the one I loved and it was priced better I might buy it more often. But, no.
