Atleast it's a good show they're trying to reboot instead of garbage like Full House.

OMFG NO! NO NO NO NO NO!!!!
... At least Will Smith is involved, but WTF. WHY are these people paid for $hit when there are hundreds of undiscovered writers (yes, including me) that can't get a damn agent!? FML Wow, I lost it there for a second. Just so sick of all these unoriginal hacks who can't come up with a new idea to save their name.

If it's a spiritual successor, sure. But, I don't think a reboot would be a good choice. Will Smith is the Fresh Prince.
But, I'm all for another show like Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. |

As long as the Fresh Prince isn't Jaden Smith, I'm down.

I figure Kevin Michael Richardson could play Uncle Phil. Keep the tradition going of having a Shredder in the show.

This is so f*cking stupid.
Like...bring the show back, with Will Smith as in-universe Will, being the Uncle Phil to some new hot shot street banger in Bel-Air? YES! PLEASE! Reboot the entire thing and start over? What's the point? Why not just make something new? A reboot of a sitcom makes zero sense. F*cking...Uncle Carlton? PLEASE! The moment some rando is trying to replicate Alfonso Ribeiro's dance is the moment they have failed. Last edited by Peanut; 08-13-2015 at 02:22 PM. |

Not down with this at all. If it was something where Will was a mentor to someone like Uncle Phil was to him, that would be fine. I know Will Smith is producing this, but it just sounds so wrong.

This is a bad idea. I've only watched some episodes of the original series, but a reboot could never recapture the spirit of the original. No one could replace the old actors.
Besides, I watched a few episodes of the original recently and I thought it was still good. It's slightly serious at times. It's a bit cheesy, but it holds up better than some other TV shows that were on air at around the same time in the 90s, so I don't see any need for a reboot.

The article says fish out of water family comedy in the spirit of Fresh Prince...so not really Fresh Prince reboot?
I mean unless it's about a lower-middle class citizen living with the rich I don't see how it's a reboot? Sounds more like a sitcom inspired by Fresh Prince.

I wish they were just giving Jaden Smith his own 'Idiot Abroad'-esque first-person narrative reality show. That'd be entertaining.

Reminds me that Kevin Hart have a short-lived sitcom in the vein of the Fresh Prince. He played, like, a superstar who lost it all, and had to move in with a normal family. Maybe an aunt or an uncle. It's been like 10 years, I don't really remember.
