Ya beat me to it, Evenstar. Although my sources would have likely been different from yours, I was going to say more or less the same thing.

Specially treated wood, good blocking technique?

Maybe luck?

Or some mind boggling chakra perhaps? Remember the Hunted NT ep? (had to change my signature for this one ) That WOODEN bo staff bended what? 45%? And returned to normal "straightness".

I don't believe a sword can just chop through wood in one stroke, unless the wood were thin or brittle. No axe can cut down a tree in one chop, after all.

Ah, my fellow Turtle enthusiast. You should watch more Rurouni Kenshin episodes/OAVs (loosely English "translated" as Samurai X) and other samurai/sword related media.

Didn't it get chopped pretty often in the old show? I think it was one of the running gags there.

So are we supposed to use their weapons to make penis jokes or something?

Honestly though I never really thought about how their weapons relate to their masculinity. I mean it's not really something I think about.

Don't worry, it's not really something people think about in general.

this seems to be a psudo pyscho analasis about how the turtles weapons shapped their selves as men. Not an excuse to make penis jokes, that little deviant art comics strip was pretty mild. I don't see why any one should ask for a mod intervention.

I wonder what their new weapons say about their masculinity, in "Rise of the TMNT."

Shredder and Krang combined had the biggest arsenal of any villains in all of the cartoons.

What do the weapons say about their masculinity? Well, they're all phallic symbols for one.

Lots of weapons are phallic, I suppose. Since you're a Swede, do you find the Mjöllnir/Thor Hammer to be phallic in appearance?

I studied old norse religion at Stockholm University. Yes, Mjölner is likely a phallic metaphor. Not only is that a funny interpretation, I know for a fact that it's an accepted theory amongst scholars.
