Hair Texture

I have kinky, tightly-coiled hair.

What is your hair texture like?

I got that good Indian hair, boi.

Is saying someone has nappy hair racist now? I know that's a CyberCubed level question but I never thought of it until I read it was somewhere online recently. I grew up in mostly black neighborhoods where people would talk about others having nappy hair all the time, so I thought it was just a descriptive term and no one got mad at me for saying it back then.

I kind of have a thick texture? Not entirely sure. But it's something where it's more convenient for me to keep it at pixie-cut length. More comfortable too, and easier to wash.

2014 was when I last had it long and it was near my shoulders in length. And then I got into a slightly messy art class and had six kittens to take care of . So I had it whacked off. Plus it was almost summer.

My family has had a history of having some thick hair on both sides, but having a Native American great-great-great(-great?) grandmother probably contributed big time.

Thick, straight/slow wave. The wave exists more underneath than it does in the outer layer.

Also holds water like crazy so I only towel/air dry. Blow drying takes forever, the arm fatigue isn't worth it. I had a girl in a salon once, after she cut it, comment on it not wanting to dry... I'll skip the blow dry sometimes to spare them. lol

I have thin, straight hair that tends to curl at the ends.
If I don't comb my hair or whenever I get out of the shower I develop these weird curly bangs or whatever.

I would like to say my hair is like zach galifianakis in masterminds but in reality it's more like vin diesel in triple x. Alright little joke about zach but it did use to be long like maybe the singer from puddle of mudd. However, been buzzin' it bald for about twelve years now.

Another here for buzzing it bald. I haven't been to a barber in like 5 years.

Depends. It can be used as an insult...but generally used to just describe it. It can be seen as an insult, though because it's ingrained from a young age that straight hair (like white girls and in mainstream media) = beautiful and natural, kinky black hair for women = ugly. I'm glad this attitude is changing and how it's more accepted and commonplace.

My hair is thick and nappy, unless I keep it in braids. I refuse to go back to perms or using chemical straighteners and keep it natural.

Dunno how to describe it. It's brown and definitely not thick at all. It is receding a bit and it gets tangled up really easily if I go a few months without getting a haircut.

I haven't had hair in like 2 years. Had to start shaving it for medical reasons at one point, then decided it was easier. I hated my hair to begin with anyway. Hell, I hate hair period. BALD FOR ALL!
