Fair enough.

But look at how many movies hit the big screen over and over and over again; yet another Marvel movie, or another Harry Potter movie, or another Fast and Furious movie. At a certain point, one of two things would happen:

#1. Everybody would love the Batman movies and we'd never again get a single Superman or Wonder Woman or Aquaman or Guardians of the Galaxy or Inhumans movie because everybody's too busy digging into their one big franchise.

It'd be Batman, Spiderman, and Wolverine all the time forever.

Or #2. People would get sick of them, we'd run out of Batman movies (because how many people give a crap about Mad Hatter or White Rabbit?), and then executives would say "They're not even watching Batman anymore, HELL NO you can't have money to produce a Teen Titans / Green Arrow / Constantine movie."

This is exactly why Disney Star Wars is going to fail sooner or later. A new SW movie every year just will not work.

Everything fails sooner or later though.

Yeah, but not for awhile. That particular hype train is going to roll for at least a decade, barring any huge clustereffs. I mean, come on. They remixed "A New Hope" and everybody lapped it up. A decade at least.

Well after the new trilogy ends I imagine the fatigue will set in especially if they keep making new spinoff movies afterward.

Rogue One will probably do OK. Not as much as Episode 7 obviously but still pretty good.

I think it'll last slightly longer.

One hugely acclaimed trilogy, four or five stand-alones, and a second trilogy that kinda limps to the finish. Not as bad as the "Prequel" trilogy, of course.

So I'd say... about as long as Marvel's MegaPhase One (Phases 1/2/3).

Eh, I have trouble seeing that. Episode 9 won't come out till what...2019?

Of all these spinoff movies people already hate the idea of a young Han Solo spinoff, and other than that it doesn't seem like people are interested in much else. I doubt Disney will ever make movies set in the old republic thousands of years before Episode 1, or go into the future hundreds of years either for that matter.

I agree. Each of those characters would be a better antagonist for a Batman solo film.

I'm just waiting for them to "officially announce" this movie for a sixth time. It's getting ridiculous.

Fortunately, in this day and age, it should be pretty hard to screw up a Batman movie.

I'll bet someone is already writing (more) bad DCEU Bats/Supes fanfiction.
