Lol you're right, I was kinda implying that her buns were a big selling point.

Pretty sure the plan will be to have Hal pop up in "Justice League" at some point as kind of a seasoned pro GL, then in "Green Lantern Corps" (that is, if the movie even happens) we'll see John Stewart freshly becoming a GL and becoming partnered up with Hal. I'd almost bet the farm.
There have been numerous suggestions that Warner Bros is going after this actor or that actor to play Hal Jordan. Yet nothing ever solid. I am under the impression it should have already been done and then after a Hal actor find a John actor for their buddy cop film.

Matt Reeves back on board officially. This is good news - I'm assuming WB gave up some creative control to sign him.

I don't think I've seen anything he's done... huh. I heard "Let Me In" was good.

So WB is willing to pay the man what he wants now?

I now expect this to be the best Batman movie ever made. Reeves and Ben Affleck together should make one hell of a film.

I expect something better or on par with the first two Nolan films. Finally Batman has been saved.

Does anything in Matt Reeves' resume make him stand out as something other than a studio filter? If not, there is nothing really to get excited about.

Interesting that Affleck wasn't mentioned in the press release at all.

No, not really. But in his defense, this stands every chance of being huge for him. Batman is Batman.

All he has to do is adapt something well-loved by the fans such as (say them with me!)...

Under the Red Hood
Hush
Court of Owls

Or flashback, and give us The Killing Joke and/or A Death in the Family.

None of this Deathstroke nonsense...

From my personal experience, those are almost as "niche" as Let Me In. Apparently they're alright movies, but the majority of people I know IRL haven't seen them and aren't interested in them.

That is interesting. Especially at a time when things are at near-critical mass and WB knows they need to ease people's fears

This article actually paints a pretty good picture of why and how Reeves is the right man for the job.

I'm still skeptical, but that skepticism has always been and will continue to be aimed at the powers that be. If Reeves is given the chance, I think he can pull it off.

And maybe I need to watch those new monkey movies...

What if I've never been interested in any of the original films? Are they good films in their own right, divorced from that previous run of films?

The new Planet of the Apes films are a complete reboot that aren't connected to the originals in any way. And they actually do a great job in making you sympathize and care for the apes as well as the humans.

Not to mention it features the apes RIDING HORSES AND SHOOTING PEOPLE WITH GUNS AND TANKS. If that's not enough to make you excited or at least curious, I don't know what will.
