Anyone know where to get Ninja Turtles in Tokyo, Japan?
Hi, i've moved to and live in Japan now.
Tokyo specifically.... I can't for the life of me find any TMNT figures. Not even sprukits, the old revoltech turtles etc. I've been to 1 TRU and they have nothing. And i also went to Akihabara's Yodobashi Camera and the only thing they had was a box of that twin pack patrol buggies which led me to believe they've cleared all TMNT stocks. There is a place however in Nakano Broadway which carries limited TMNT stuffs but they're 3 to 4 times retail price, so maybe those are imports. so, if anyone else is from Japan or know where, can you throw a buddy a bone here? |

There's a store called 2000 Toys near the Nakano Broadway shopping center (maybe that's the one you're talking about), they have a bunch of vintage stuff. Not sure about inflated prices, but that's almost always a given with imported or even locally produced merch from Western media.

If you want to find new playmates figure, maybe you can check monster japan toy store.
http://www.monster-japan.co.jp/ address: 東京都渋谷区恵比寿西1-6-1 http://monster-japan.co.jp/pic-labo/shopphoto2.jpg What ever, Japan only have first wave 1~3 playmates nick tmnt figure & retro collection (2013 ver.) in 2014. Most tmnt toys are hard to find & expensive in JP, because those toys come from other country. |

Out of curiosity, how much does a Basic TMNT figure cost in Japan?
In Norway the average Basic Nick figure cost between 130kr to 160kr ($16-$20). |

I've seen aftermarket prices between 600 & 800 JPY for the domestic editions of early waves. Their original retail price was 1,300 JPY each. Anything higher than that is just gouging, which is super obvious in the case of imports. Nothing past wave 3 was localized to my knowledge (not even sure they got that far) but the modern figures seem to be between 2,800 & 3,800 JPY, at least according to the site linked above. Definite case of inflation there, but I imagine you won't find the stuff in stores...

Powder is accurate in saying the above.
Although i have seen the pizza playset on clearance for ¥800. ¥1000 is about USD$10 so you can do the math. I am willing to pay ¥1000 per figure before tax so ¥1300 seems resonable. Seems like there is a confusion about what imports are. When i say imports, i mean like someone personally bought it from ebay (or other means) in limited quantity to bring it into the country. Hence the price is 3 to 4 times retail price after factoring in shipping. If i'm gonna buy imports, i would be better off buying off ebay myself is what i'm saying. Of course every tmnt figures you can find here are not from Japan.... They are made in China. So every tmnt figure is an import but that's not what i mean. If a retail company got the figures through an official supplier, then the price will be closer to retail. Thanks for all the comments so far, i cannot possibly thank each and everyone personally but thank you. I will definitely check out monster Japan. But does anyone know where to get sprukits?
