Sonic the Hedgehog Live-Action/CGI Movie Targeting 2020 Release Date

I think technically he does have 2 eyes balls. Depending what animation you’re watching there’s 2 separate eyelids when he blinks (distinguished by a line or shadowing). They’re just right next to each other like on some other characters.

Separating his eyes would not be that big a change. This fan pic is a good example in terms of the eyes.


Making him more “realistic” looking is the way to go though. That’s the point of him being in live action. I’d be so disappointed if they made it like Space Jam. That was fine because it was the Looney Tunes world but I want real life Sonic.

As for where they come from. I hope Eggman comes from the same place as Sonic. I mean like the games. Have Eggman follow Sonic to earth or vice versa. Being from another planet is the best way. Mobius or somewhere else.

It must be a real guy playing Eggman. Like with Gargamel in the Smurfs. Why animate a whole human character? It’d be a waste of cgi and effort.

Just need to give him a fat-suit and mustache. A costume of course.

I really liked realistic Eggman in 06. It was cool seeing him like an actual person.

Besides why have a cartoonish human with other humans? Sonic and friends obviously need to be animated because they’re animals but Eggman is human. It makes no sense from his standpoint.

Jim Carrey has been cast as Dr. Robotnik. This casting makes perfect sense because Robotnik AKA Eggman is an over-the-top villain just like the Riddler.

Somehow this reminds me of Count Olaf, from A Series of Unfortunate Event (ironically he plays the character too in the movie!).

A live action version of Eggman by Jim Carrey would be awesome imo. Can’t wait to see the result.

I heard somewhere that Dr. Robotnik will be a live action character. I wonder what else will be CGI besides Sonic. Badniks and Animal Buddies I guess.

Yeah I wonder that too. I feel like if any of them would be there in a major role then we would have heard about it by now. But I'm good with being wrong and seeing at least Tails show up in the first Sonic movie.

Yeah. It can't just be Sonic in the movie. His friends would also have to be involved somehow.

Ah, well.

It would have been nice to see someone like Brian Blessed or John Rhys-Davies. Villains like Eggman see themselves as aristocrats in a sense, and it would be cool to see a "serious" actor play him with the kind of charisma Raul Julia had as M. Bison in the 1994 Street Fighter movie.
