Only 11 minutes? that's pretty short for a TMNT series.

He did say that, that would mean Season 1's 26 episodes may actually be 52 stories if there's two 11 minute episodes in each "airing."

The new series being only 11 minutes means that. There won't be enough time for character development, and the show will just jump straight to the action. I bet they will just glance over the origins.

Many current cartoons have 11 minute episodes and they're fine. Justice League Action and many CN shows have that format.

Watching this video, they mention Shredder isn't in this series, but looks like they hinted that he might show up eventually.

Also Master Splinter is a lot more lazy in this series. but then realizes the dangers that are ahead and gets back to training the Turtles.

11 minutes is fine, it's something different and it can be enough , better than stretching some episodes, you can have more character driven episodes and for important episodes they can have two parters or a "22" minute episode, hell it can have a 4 parter and be 2 "22" minute episodes, it works.

They mention that the turtles don't have ninja skills and Splinter is lazy. Not such a fan of these changes. WHy not just have this be a series where the turtles already had many adventures, it doesn't have to be an origin.

That's definitely a strong stand alone format. (And sounds annoying for TMNT imo.) If there's ANY connection between eps in this series, it certainly isn't going to be much. I don't predict any sense of really being able to get into it then if there is close to zero continuous story. Shame.

It's hard to imagine the TMNT even being able to DO much at all in such a short amount of time. Sure, the OT was mostly stand alone eps itself, but they were at least close to the half hour mark each and had time enough to go through an actual challenge and resolve it...

edit: How the hell then are they even going to manage to evolve these guys, eventually give them their reg weapons, etc.

Most cartoons these days like Steven Universe or Justice League Action have 11 minute episodes.

They've already hinted at many story arcs the first season will go through, 11 minute episodes doesn't mean no continuity. Likely just a way to show different toys in every episode and have the full playmates line shown in the first season.

If anything the 11 minute episodes will give us stronger character based episodes and more story arcs that we'll be able to get through. Even better news if this show doesn't do well and is cancelled at least we got a few more adventures out of the way.

this series may be as far removed from what we know of as tmnt as anything that's come before, and i don't think that's a good precedent.

Just as I was starting to warm just a little.... 11 minutes, no Shredder... and lazy Splinter, my god he really is a hamster It did say back to training so I guess he just thought he'd done his job and relaxed, then realised they need him still.

I guess, light, young, fun series it will be....

Oh, and the new character pics, I like the toys more.
