Just came across this thread on ResetEra, gaming forum spinoff of Neogaf after it self-imploded:

It's always interesting to see what people think of TMNT outside of hardcore forums like this one.

Surprisingly a lot of the responses are varied there. Many people mentioned the IDW comics, the 2k3 cartoon, Mirage, Archie, Nick, etc. It's not all just "my childhood original cartoon and 90's movies" although there are a few responses like that.

I guess TMNT isn't as obscure as we think it is?
