I have the 15 volume manga set as well as all but two of the Shogakukan books, as well as some other Japanese turtles books. Some time I'll post a picture of what I have. Don't think I've got any of the Comic Bom Bom. Anyone have pix of the Bom Bom?

Here's some cover pictures I saved from the internet. The red one was featured on Yahoo Auctions Japan. Steve Murphy sold the blue one on ebay a few years ago. Since I was buying up other Japanese TMNT stuff like hotcakes, I decided to let it slide and not bother with bidding.

I found some pics of yet another volume, one that apparently doesn't tie in with the "Super Turtles" saga:

If its any help in searching, the cover text reads "TV Land Picture Book vol. 43" ("Terebirando ehon 43"). Title, "The Turtles' Greatest Effort!!" ("Taatoruzu ga daikatsuyaku!!")

I know the translation sounds a little wonky but "katsuyaku" means a great exertion of effort in something physical; a great expendature of energy.

Hmm... I wonder if the issue of Gen13 guest-starring the Turtles ever made it to Japan. I know a good number of the early Gen13 issues/stories were released over there, but the issue the Turtles were in was part of a special three-issue story arc (labeled issues #13A-13B, humorously enough) that featured cameos by numerous comics characters (including the usual roster of characters from Image and the creator-owned properties from Dark Horse's now-defunct Legend sub-label, and even the Archie gang and Wolverine), so they have ran into rights issues. Though, from what I understand, at Image, when a character guest-stars in another creator's book, they're usually free to reprint it without need to ask permission from the guest character's owner(s) (the whole controversies over Neil Gaiman and Dave Sim's guest-written issues of Spawn aside). I found if that unspoken rule applies to foreign reprints?

Sounds pretty promising. I'd love to see some scans or pictures of the contents.

Due to an arrangement with TMNT fan extraordinaire, Mike R., I'm currently looking at a copy of the Comic Bom Bom adaptation of "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 3" on loan for a few days.

I can already tell it's going to be a tough scan project, but hopefully through the cooperation of Cryomancer and DrSpengler, we can make this thing readable in time.

I'll just say that the Comic Bom Bom manga adaptation is exponentially more interesting than the actual 3rd live-action movie.

I figured I'd go ahead and share a sneak peak of the insanity that is Comic Bom Bom's "adaptation" of the 3rd live-action TMNT movie:

The Evil Shredder attacks? Again?

Remember that Raiders of the Lost Ark parody scene in the movie?

Samurai Turtles vs. Real Ninjas! How did this get cut out of the film?

April O'Neil is really selling her "witch" facade:

Turtles driving battle tanks in ancient Japan. Because... well, you've played Power Stone 2 on Sega Dreamcast, right?

Thanks again to Mike Russell for allowing this amazing book to be shared with the world!
