eh idk man. Back when CoVid was new and such, I wouldn't have felt comfortable going to work in a crowded office.

I remember having movie theater plans with the crew that week, and then I told em I'd probably skip it because I didn't feel comfortable going to a crowded theater til the situation changed, and then I found out all movie theaters were shut down anyway so... that was that.

I'd refrained from bringing it up because... well, it's pretty common knowledge Trump screwed the pooch re Covid response and hundreds of thousands of Americans died needlessly from poor pandemic handling and execution.

As for criticising Walz re his service, old Captain Bonespurs dodged the draft and puts down military veterans, calling them losers if they got captured. Fine upstanding behaviour towards those who served their country. At least Walz was in part of the military.

Regarding the Covid lockdowns in Minnesota, they were fairly lenient compared to what the likes of say Singapore and Australia enacted. And guess what? While they were going on (they loosened later), they both had some of the lowest Covid related death rates.

"But it's just like the flu!" all the parrots squawk. The Spanish flu a hundred years ago killed an extra 2% of Europe in the space of 18 months. That was a LOT of people considering the population at the time and that travel was a lot harder to go and spread to places. Vaccines and better overall immunity over the decades means flu is less deadly than it used to be.
