The Official 2012-2013 Technodrome "Favorite Secondary Character" Poll & Discussion

*SEE THIS THREAD FOR OFFICIAL STATEMENT ON THE POLLS!*

As the title suggests, this is the official Technodrome 2012-2013 "Favorite Secondary Character" poll. So, Technodrome members, who is your favorite member of the supporting TMNT cast, and why?

For the secondary characters, I've listed who in my opinion are the most reasonable choices, in all TMNT media. Although when you dissect each individual TMNT platform (especially the OT, I would presume) you could go on & on with secondary characters. So for those people who prefer the obscure and do not find their character here, I have included the "Other" option.

I encourage discussion about why you prefer the character you have chosen. Please refrain from simply stating "My favorite secondary character is (insert name here)." Explain!

As for me, I'm voting Splinter. What's not to like about the sensei of the Turtles? Splinter has been a source of wisdom throughout every incarnation, the voice of reason & the guiding light of the Turtles. I undoubtedly favor movie 1 Splinter, although IDW's new take on Splinter is really growing on me. The mood and dialogue of the first Raphael/Splinter scene in movie 1 is timeless. Those words are truly meaningful.

So, who will it be?!

It's just so hard to decide among Baxter, the Shredder (shouldn't villains be in a separate category?), Leatherhead, and Professor Honeycutt.

Come to think of it, Splinter kind of has the edge for being the best father figure in all of fiction.

Rough....there are a lot of good secondary characters. I'd vote Usagi, but he's his own character from his own universe.

I'll probably go toss up between Casey and Splinter. The Dad and the Older Brother. I love that despite being groomed to murder a man, there is still a family dynamic in the TMNT, especially the 1st movie. The one line that sums it up is this:

Makes me get teary eyed every time.

As for Casey, I dunna know why, I just love the big galoot. Maybe it's Elias Kotaes' portrayal.

I debated that, but shied away from flooding the General Forums too much.

I think, in the end, we're here for the Turtles. But the secondary characters help fuel interest, for sure.

Jester, yes I agree, movie 1 Splinter was the total package. He really had the best, perhaps most meaningful lines.

I dunno, man. Splinter helped me grow philosopcally, the Shredder inspired my taste in clothing (prossibly), and I just overall like Leatherhead, Baxter, and the Fugitoid for their striking personalities, and the same could be said of many others on the list. I think this one should be like a pick your top three.

And yeah, Kevin Clash is the best Splinter we've ever had. His lecture to Raphael and the campfire monologue are my absolute favourites.

Though I know the whole flick's dialogue by heart, I'm more proud of knowing all of Splinter's lines in particular, so I'm more prone to recite them than those from other parts.

I'm not opposed to a multi-option, but I fear I can't edit the poll once it's posted...at least I can't find any available option that enables such an edit.

My second choice would have been the Fugitoid, followed by the Rat King. I think as a Donatello fan it's hard not to like Fugitoid.

I've always loved Splinter and Shredder, but Shredder is my favorite TMNT character. I always thought he looked really cool in every version, and think he's a great villain. I love his personality villain-wise, and he has some funny banter with Krang, Bebop and Rocksteady. I also love it when he impersonates Michelangelo when he freezes them:

"As Michelangelo would say, 'chill out dudes!"

I've always liked his voice actors as well (well more-so the voices, I don't know too much about the actors themselves), and made for one of the coolest villains in media history to me. Just the vibe he gives off I really enjoy watching him in the episodes, and have always loved his action figures.

Splinter has always reminded me of Master Yoda. Wise, natural teacher, old, and usually sought out for advice, but never afraid to do battle. I love seeing Splinter in action, and I actually like him and Shredder's characters just as much, if not more than the turtles.

Thanks for sharing your explanations, Bossk! Interesting that you favor Saki of all TMNT characters.

Not according to Nick's new show, judging from what we have read and seen of him.

Yeah, when I was really young and growing up with it, my favorite was Leonardo because he was a role model for me. x) Now I just favor Shredder for some reason. I'm actually somewhat surprised that Rocksteady/Bebop don't have any votes yet, I've always liked those two morons.

NICK'S SPLINTER WON'T BE OLD!

It's not like he's speaking in code.

Tough choice, I went with Casey. I agree with Jester about Usagi. I would have voted for him, but Casey is an original creation of the franchise.
