And even though he and Donnie tend to always come up as third and fourth in fave turtle polls, you know what... I don't want Leo changed to try to make him "cooler" to people. Don't care if some find him boring in comparison. The people who have him or Donnie as their faves know damn well why they're awesome and I prefer it that way.

Wow.

So Raph is the oldest and the leader, so that's good news for Raph fans but bad news for Leo fans. I personally don't mind the change, it will be different.

I just found out that the actor who voicing Leo in this new series also voices Dewey in Ducktales.

I love that Eric Bauza is playing Splinter.

So Mikey is going to have more of an artistic side, I like the sound of that.

I'm not bothered that April is going to be African American.

Rob Paulson is the Voice Director, that's awesome.

Eh, I say bring on the changes. Every incarnation needs its own unique elements and it just ends up giving the wealth of the TMNT multiverse more variety.

I'm not too thrilled about Raphael being the leader and the oldest. They are giving Leonardo the treatment that Scott/Cyclops got in the X-Men film series and making Raphael like Wolverine and having him being the face of the franchise. I am glad that Rob Paulsen will serve as voice director though. Blue must certainly be Schwartz's favorite color since he is also voicing Dewy on Ducktales.

I think the idea of an aloof Leo is a compelling one.
And I'm curious to see what they do with it.

Maybe he's a perfectionist, more interested in the craft of martial arts and the theory behind it than it's practical application.

And Raph the thug just wants to go and punch skulls, not really caring all that much about whether or not his form is perfect.

I'm more than a little excited to see a version of the guys where Leo isn't Raph's babysitter. Because let's face it, that's what it always turns out to be. All the while Mike and Don get shafted to the back.

Water TMNT down by doing everything imaginable. I wish people just ventured into new stories and time periods rather than screwing with the foundations of the thing and characters.






The April thing doesn't bother me, though with a very Irish surname I'd kind of rather see her be biracial, which would fit nicely in today's world. White O'Niel dad, black mom. Unless you count "mom thing" (or Nick at all I guess in maybe a photo), has her mom ever even been seen? She could be of whatever background we want.
