i don't blame Ben for stepping down one bit.

WB and DC keeping with the tradition of Quantity over Quality.

Whoa. WHOA.

That is big--and bad--news.

There are certain characters who hold a special place in the hearts of millions,” Affleck said in a statement. “Performing this role demands focus, passion and the very best performance I can give. It has become clear that I cannot do both jobs to the level they require. Together with the studio, I have decided to find a partner in a director who will collaborate with me on this massive film. I am still in this, and we are making it, but we are currently looking for a director. I remain extremely committed to this project, and look forward to bringing this to life for fans around the world.”

Somebody got tired of being asked about the Batman movie.

Has nothing to do with him being asked questions about the movie.

Yeah, the most likely answer is that it probably has more to do with the fact that the studio is getting impatient and wants to put out this movie ASAP, because WB thinks that Batman=$$$.

Seems pretty clear there are creative differences between Affleck and WB.

WB probably isn't happy that they are going to lose $75 million on Live By Night either.

Batman DOES equal money. Batman is like Star Wars; even if it sucks, it will make bank.

Some dude who keeps an MCU timeline on TheComicBoard posted it after seeing it come up in his Facebook feed. No one special, just didn't want to take credit.

I really liked Ben Affleck's Batman, and people are kidding themselves if they don't want to see a solo movie with him.

Lol, this is a vote of no confidence from Affleck. Not a good sign...

If WB tries to rush this into production with a bad script then I bet Affleck walks from the project completely.

That's a shame. Still - Batman's got the puncher's chance. He's like a one-man MCU; Marvel can release 135 minutes of colonoscopy footage at this point, and it will get rave reviews. In the same way, everyone loves Batman, even when he stinks up the place.

He's almost certainly required by contract to participate in the film no matter what, as an actor. But yeah, he might try to humiliate WB at least by withdrawing from the creative aspect, if he feels like it's necesary.

Is he? His first contract was for 3 films - BvS and two Justice League movies (back when the plan was to do two). He never signed anything to direct it. Doubt he signed anything to star in it. Even if he did he'd still be able to walk if he wanted to.
