Well, it's an actual video that exists, the title isn't lying. So... Genuine? We're not being tricked in any way.

She was fearless and crazier than him. She was his queen, and God help anybody that dared to disrespect his queen.

I love these videos. Tamara is adorable she is going to do the other two movies. She also thinks the Bayturtles look terrifying.

Meh. I turned it off right after she said Michael Bay directed the most recent Ninja Turtles films and that her favorite Turtle was "the purple one." I'd rather watch something that is genuinely informative and researched on the host's part, even if their interest in it is limited. If they're not going to put through the effort, why should I give them my time?

Because sometimes its interesting to see people's thoughts on a piece of fiction without the knowledge beforehand, also its called "Tamara has never seen" so I don't know why you expect a well researched review.

Can I say for a person who is part of a movie review "program" I'm surprised by what all she's never seen...

Maybe not meant to be informative as it's a review from a Turtle novice (and is there really that much more to inform us on anyhow after all this time?), but at least she's got an enjoyable and adorable on-camera presence.

Should def do the PD films after these... See what the contrast in reaction is for a novice.

Nah, we wouldn't want the poor girl to be traumatized.

When you review or make a video about a film, even one you haven't seen prior, you do research. At the very least, know the names of the characters. Just because someone makes something for the sake of entertainment doesn't mean they are shielded from criticism for not putting forth any real effort beyond that. One of the guys I follow on You Tube only does videos on the Jurassic Park franchise, which you would think would get boring after a while, but they remain interesting because he actually knows his stuff and puts effort in his videos.

No when you review a film you watch it and and analyze its ups and downs in a critical manner. The only "research" that is needed is to watch the previous films if said film is a sequel(not a reboot or a remake). Most famous and respected film reviewers don't do research of any kind they instead base the film on its on merits.

Could you give me a source for this information? Tell me where you learned that "respected" film critics don't do any research. And which critics? Pauline Kael? The late Roger Ebert? Or are you talking about Harry Knowles, the king of unfinished sentences and longwinded deviations that have nothing to do with the film?

And where are you getting that doing research has any sort of judgment on a film's merits?

Also, you're missing the fact that critics, at the very least, learn the names of the principal characters. Research is sometimes just making sure you got certain details, such as characters and crew member names, correct in your review.

Hell, when handling films for well known properties like TMNT... even some of the film makers hardly do enough research anymore it seems. A far worse crime than a silly person on YouTube giving their own impression.

I can't argue there. That has certainly been a prevalent entity in comic book films. The worst Batman film ever put to screen came from a man who considered the character a cartoon.

Those people and Redlettermedia, Jeremy Jahns, Chris Stuckmann, Your movie sucks(when it comes to Quickies), basically like 90 percent of people who normally review movies.

Most of the time they don't remember characters name they just say "Jamie Foxx's character' or "Ron Pearlman's character". Also the video in question isn't really a review or a critique but more like a vlog

That's not "90 percent" of the film critic community and you're mostly talking about You Tube personalities. It's good that you like these videos. By all means, enjoy them. It's just not my kind of film critique.

That's the shtick of the show, though. She gives her thoughts after seeing the movie for the first time right away, it's not meant to be a 6 months research excavation before making the review. If she started to list of each page number on where each scene in TMNT was based off in the comics and having a huge in-debt look on the production and how the costumes worked and how influenced puppeteering, it'd be disingenuous to the theme of the show.

That's not what I mean by " doing research." I'm talking about the basics here, like the name of "The Purple One." The simple stuff. Granted, this could be a character, like the Nostalgia Critic. I don't know. I have never heard of her before yesterday. But either way, I've seen a dozen of these kinds of shows and I think the nicest way I can say this is I prefer more serious review shows/columns.
