Should there be a strong LGBTQ+ presence on "Rise of the TMNT"?

April will likely explore her gender, but not her sexuality, even though it's a healthy and important part of life. I'm sure it would raise a few eyebrows if Nick went that route.

No, of course not. Characters who only exist to "represent" something rather than have an impact on the story, are nothing but a pointless distraction. Unless the stuff they "represent" is either part of the story, informs their actions or is a neutral aspect that is barely touched on upon (if at all), it's just going to come across as forced. By all means, have characters who belongs to one of these groups, just make sure it's an actual character and not some virtue signaling distraction.

Just for comparison imagine for a moment that you're watching a movie that's about anything other than, let's say, mining. Now somewhere in the middle of this movie, a miner shows up and starts talking about how dangerous it is to be a miner for five minutes. That would be pointless.

Now let's say the movie is about about mining and the hardships of mining is indeed shown to us rather than told to us, wouldn't that make more sense? Or if the movie still isn't about mining, if this character lost his leg in a mining accident and that drives his actions. Or if you really can't think of a reason for hiim to be a miner, just have him have a background in mining and never make a big deal about it, just have it be known what he does for a living.

Transwoman, biologically male. The weird thing about this page is that she went to a fertility clinic and is mad the doctor misgendered her, which I guess meant he told her biological males can't get pregnant, which is true and something she should know beforehand. This page depicts a pretty forced reason for her to be sad.

I understood it as the doctor called she a he and didn’t apologize for the mistake. Also she has a female partner that accompanied her to the doctor to see about options for having a baby. The female partner to get pregnant that is. How far off am I?

I wouldn't mind, but it should not be shoehorned in simply for the sake of representation.

It should feel like a part of the story as the series progresses. Like for example one of the turtles slowly realizing he has feelings for Casey instead of April or something. Or vice versa.
