Marvel Artist Jon Malin Sparks Controversy By Comparing ‘SJWs’ to Nazis

Marvel Artist Jon Malin Sparks Controversy By Comparing ‘SJWs’ to Nazis

I know "SJW" has become a pejorative term, but it shouldn't be. Yes, many people who self-identify as SJWs can be annoying, but if you find yourself opposed to people who advocate for social justice and civil rights, you probably need to take a look in the mirror.

I'd love to see a Venn diagram of the fanbros who applaud this guy for speaking his truth, and the ones deriding that GI Joe dude for forcing his politics down their throat.

I bet it's a circle.

Calling anyone Nazis who aren't literal Nazis always rings hollow to me and seems like a non-argument.

It's pretty much the final "throw in the towel" moment in any argument.

Very confusing quote the way he says it.

“SJWs are not Nazis but Nazis are SJWs and X-MEN aren’t SJWs.”

I think unless your teaching a school history lesson bringing up Nazis is a losing situation. No matter what point your trying to make.

If A is not equal to B how can B equal A and C not equal A? My brain hurts.

I don't think most people have a problem with social justice and civil rights, SJW is a term used to mock those people who abuse it as an excuse to further expand their agenda.

Horseshoe theory.

I don't know that I've ever seen SJW used as anything but a prefix or suffix to some form of bigotry.

Well I found a good quote for that:

There's a reason comedians are tired of being harassed by people,

And here I thought it was because they were bad at reading a room and knowing their audience.

I mean, in the 90s I watched Bill Maher bomb on a college campus until he read the room, and shifted his act to suit his audience.

And I think there's a difference between not liking a thing, and saying/doing bigoted things.
But then, I don't find hurting and disrespecting people all that fun, so what do I know.

I think he was trying to say that "Nazis are true SJW"s in a way that they are the ones that want censor everything, i.e. he took "SJW" as something completely negative.

Which all in all is a very weird thing to do, not because, "SJW" are good, but it's like equaling two things on a opposite sides of the spectrum. Like Liberal Authoritarian or Northern South.

Seems guy need to spend more time on Internet to learn what is what.

Or maybe people just need to grow a skin and don't take everything as a personal offense (which advice a lot "Internet-lefties" give, and obviously they don't follow suit) and understand what is a harmless joke and what is a serious bigotry.
A talent which was lost in this days, thanks to people like you, who encourage everyone to stay infantile children, endlessly sheltered from the reality and going hysterical when someone bursts their bubble.

Since you are hanging on Tumblr - it's fairly obvious why.
