I havenít read any details about the shooters particular situation with being de-monetized or reasons given by Youtube. Iíd be interested to know though.

Iíve heard complaints about YouTube business practices from folks with over 200,000 subscribers. So itís the medium size guys too that are feeling the dissatisfaction.

Yep, youtube removed monetization for channels with under 1000 subscribers and less than 4000 hours of view time on their channel in 12 months...myself included. (Not that I saw any money or many of my videos could earn money anyway.)

This was a fairly recent change, too, wasn't it? Within the last 6 months?

The United States and its contemporaries are currently dragging the rest of the world to World War III, regardless of circumstance.

So why not?

London (where guns are banned) overtakes New York for murder rates as stabbings surge:

Now the UK is looking at banning knives...

Won't do any good. two big problems

1) Humans will find a way to kill one another with or without a gun. We will go back to kungfu fighting on the streets if we will.

2) It won't stop the bad people from getting the guns illegally. The people we don't want guns will find a way to get the guns and the price of guns on black market will sky rocket and those wanting guns will be more desperate for money to pay for said guns.

I am for gun control but saying we need to ban all guns is never going to happen and should never happen

I get about one check every 5 months or so from them for $100's for my main youtube channel. and thanks to a few of the CGI videos, the views are actually increasing.

I wouldn't be so stupid as to th ink i could actually make a living off of the service though. would be nice for retirement though. i'd be happy with $1,000 a month then heh.

Until the day that they are. There's plenty of other countries out there where having them is not a right... plenty of options.

I have over 1,000 subscribers on Youtube but I've never seen one cent from them. I don't think I ever set it up to get money, though.

Which is?

... I heavily doubt that there is going to be some mass governmental takeover in the future.

Why are we discounting this as an AWESOME alternative to firearms?
Because this sounds amazing to me!

I get to meet people from all over the world and thanks to knowing more than one language I read news from national newspapers from different countries.

The rest of the world thinks the US has a big gun problem but I guess you guys can debate if it really is true or not.

It's the culture more so than the current gun laws. If you can believe it, there were shooting clubs back in New York City high schools until 1969. So it begs the question as to what's different? One strong possibility is the overwhelming culture of narcissism to the point that now some people are willing to be well-known for infamy, rather than being an upright person that no one will ever know about or, frankly, not care about. ...And thanks to the cultural addiction of social media, that psychological craving for attention is even greater.

One topic that seems to get swept under the rug is law enforcement/government incompetence. Like with Parkland, and the incompetence of the Air Force to submit the gun man's criminal history to the FBI in the Texas church shooting last November, and now this...
So because the government isn't doing it's job, everyone else's freedoms have to be restricted?

It won't be too surprising now, if soon a call for all knives should be banned considering how terrorists are improvising their attacks:
