Thanks, The best part about it was that he didn't want to sell the one from the book cause he said he uses it as an example piece so he drew me a new one that's almost twice as big

Awesome pieces everyone!

I picked this up from Freddie E. Williams II, the artist on the TMNT/Batman crossover. It's 7" x 10.5" in size which is little but it packs a big punch. It's a gorgeous piece.

hi guys,

Unfortunately I haven't had much time to keep up with the 'drome of late (on too many forums already!). But, as I posted this elsewhere I thought I'd mention here in case anybody is interested in these sorts of data points.

The TMNT cartoon vhs cover OA, I owned about a third of it at one time - large lovely paintings by my old but sadly deceased friend Greg Martin, I have from time to time sold a few to slowly recover what I paid the family for the art and for other art I purchased from Greg and/or his family.

anyways, a total of 7 pieces now at various prices between 400 - 2800. (back covers lower end, nice front covers higher end).

Not sure if its of general interest here or not, but there you have it.

Also, much earlier in this thread someone was giving me grief for not publicizing the name of the Turtles in Time (snes) artist.

I can't remember where the discussion ended up but the long and short of it was that I wasn't giving up the name at that time and it led to a pissing match. I should have known better but at the same time, I wish people would just respect it when you say no.

Aaaaanyways... for those interested, I have good news. As part of a larger documentary on video game box art being released in 2018, the esteemed gentleman in question has agreed to participate. The plan is for him to be included in and interviewed as part of the documentary. I was asked to help on the documentary and will be credited as a producer.

Follow on facebook!

Still one of the great pieces of turtle art anywhere!

Ah, so you're still here withholding their name, all the while promoting something. Nice!

I am not making one cent from my involvement in the film. I am simply helping information that has been unknown to the public for decades, and would stay unknown if I didn't participate, public.

I have always, as I think I stated earlier, wanted to make his identity and the identity of many other talented game artists, public. I simply wanted it to choose the time and place where that information was revealed. I'm not sure why that bothers you so. Perhaps you need a hug.

C'mere Powder. Virtua-hug for you

Because in dangling that information before our faces while flaunting exclusivity, you come across as if you want to deny other art collectors the opportunity to purchase or commission their work. Not to mention the many fans who simply wish to know who to credit such an iconic piece to. It's such a simple thing. Holding an iron grip on this factoid in the same post as sarcastically used emoticons & taunts just further cements the idea that you take enjoyment away from those of us whose ability to track down "public information" wanes (You did state that folks would find it were they able to search to the extent or using certain terms that you did). It would seem you do not value community in so much as a general sense, let alone the enrichment of our own. That you would even bring this up well over a year later is proof of that. You want credit & acknowledgement for being the one to come across their namesake, & maybe in some small way you're entitled to that, but you've gone about it in a manner that makes you seem like an egotistical jerk.

You need another hug. HUG.

What I'm not sure you've ever understood is that for me its about much more than just this piece, or even just this artist.

Its about hundreds of amazing pieces of box art and their creators, almost all of which are sadly uncredited and deserving of recognition.

Now, those announcements have a lot more power if they are done together.

Effectively, I don't want to scoop myself by leaking any of it out beforehand.

Can you please just respect my wishes? Or just not reply if its so offensive to you so that people that ARE interested can do so without you and I having to hash this out?

thanks.

That was hardly the case almost 2 years ago when you came here & started firing off at the mouth towards myself & others. The case as it is now would've been a respectable one were it not for that unfortunate bit of history. I think I speak for at least a handful of members here when I say that the experience will be a tainted one.

Good luck with your project all the same. I'm sure it will be both interesting & informative.

It's been a while. I picked up these a while ago. I've been looking for a nice Berger piece to add to my collection. I'm also a big spider-man fan. Always been wanting a prime piece of spidey art in my collection, so I snagged this, however my son also loves spider-man so I got it framed and will give it to him for Christmas. It'll look great hanging in his room.

Powder, you have done something similar. If he or she doesn't want to share so be it.

By all means provide proof of that. I was the first person to give people a look at the Bayturtles, via sketches, I'm not a tease. I do what I can for the community.
