Netflix TMNT 2021 - placeholder online already?
Hi guys, so I was on Netflix last night and noticed something strange. Typed in "Turtle" to see what TMNT stuff was up. They have TMNT 2007, Next Mutation, and then a placeholder seeming, just the words "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles", in a very basic font, with the red N Netflix logo in the corner. When you click it there is no info other than a release date of 2021.
Apologies if this is something already discussed but I'm trying to figure what this is. I can't attach a screenshot here, but I'm wondering what this is for? An upload of the 1990 movie coming next year? The Rise of the TMNT Netflix movie? The Seth Rogen movie? Or given it has the red N, indicating Netflix original content, something else? Has anyone else seen it? Am I getting my hopes up thinking it may be for the long rumoured darker Netflix series? |

Well, I see it says "N film" as opposed to simply "original", so yeah, I'd guess it's just a placeholder for the Rise movie. It's possible they could have something else brewing, but I'd imagine such a thing would be way down the line, & not have the need for a profile. Cool find either way!

The Rise of the TMNT movie is close to completed, so I imagine that will be released soon.

Do you guys think it's going to take place between the first and second season?
I was really hoping to see what this show could be like post shredder.

Hmm, interesting... Yeah, biggest bets are this is probably the Rise movie, esp since we're still not hearing anything and only a couple more months of the year left, so doubtful it's coming out in 2020. Good eye!
If it was something else cool, that would be awesome. I remember when some quote seemed to suggest that it would be a link between them, but who knows at this point. Think most are kind of expecting it to go forward from the end of it and go back to the Krang/Utrom stuff. |

It’s the Rise movie.
This placeholder is a pretty recent addition as I was searching for Turtles on there a couple weeks ago thinking the 2007 movie was still streaming and this didn’t pop up. |

The next tv series will air on nickelodoen the deal with netflix is only about the movie. Since rise started few months after 2012 ended iti s very possible that the next series will start in 2021 but not on netflix. It will be on nickelodeon.

I wouldn't be surprised if the next TMNT series is a CBS All Acess (or whatever it is at the time) exclusive alla Picard, Discovery and all the Trek series.

I dont think anyone wants the next tmnt series to become excusive to a subcription service like netflix especialy now that people are getting tired of this crap with all these tv subcription channels. It will continue be on nickelodoen like the 2012 and 2018 series are.

Agree. Though also hoping the merger with CBS will help open up more options than just Nick. (Not that Viacom didn't already have additional channels it could have considered.)
I dread the day they trap a TMNT series, esp a decent one, on a streaming service a lot of us don't have or want . If I have to pay extra, separate from cable, to see it, then just release a DVD/Blu-ray set, too... |

That is the current fate of the 2003 series, sadly, but at least Nick put it on Nicktoons... half a decade ago
