I always liked Eastman's art with the colored bandanas from the cartoons. I think his art works well with both the all-red and all-colored.
The new character seems interesting so far, not much to say yet though. |

Really looking forward to this issue, it's always good to see the turtles taken down a peg or two! And the idea of them being tested is really awesome!Really hope our mystery fighter isn't Splinter, though.

Wow, I love the colored Eastman art!
I'm still suspeting this new guy being Splinter, but it's kinda hard to imagine that a mask like this could fit on his head with that headshape he has. I mean: Spoiler:
Also, this "new guy" has no tail, tho he could hide it under the robe. Dunno. From this preview we know: - He knows about the Turtles and about Splinter too. - He wanted to show them how untrained they are, but had no inteantion to kill them, he simple left after he finished the beating. Any guesses? |

I really hope it's not Splinter.
I'm going to do a serious eye roll if it is. |

I feel like it isn't Splinter. Perhaps that's just because I really hope it's not.
Regardless, I'm glad they get right down to business. Can't wait for next week. |

...what if it's Karai, and it's part of the plan, of bringing Leonardo in to the foot clan? Tho she wouldn't be able to beat all four turtles alone. She can't even beat Leo.
Angel, also uses escrima sticks, but I'd highly doubt about this creature being her. |

I was thinking that this issue was going to be B&W. It's weird seeing Eastman's turtles with the coloured bandanas.

A full six days in advance? Dang, talk about amping up anticipation! Usually the site gives two days advance previews.
The theory of the mysterious opponent wearing a mask was proven correct. I am wondering if he is not neccessarily an enemy. It reminds me of the Ninja Tribunal sending out the wooden army of warriors to retrieve the turtles. Wonder if the Savante ninja group is affliliated with this creature?

Wow, wasn't noticed that before. So this new guy might be someone who works for the Savate clan. I wonder, if he knows Splinter from the past, and that's why he covers himself with a mask. Maybe he is someone who also reincarnated? We might get an origin story for the Savate ninjas in this issue?
I can't wait! Btw, I think I found something interesting: That's a cover of the April micro. Who is that guy in the background, is he the same as our current mystery man? There's no one in the whole comic who appear as wearing a hood. Strange. Last edited by Tazi; 04-19-2013 at 10:33 AM. |

You're probably right, but the cape with the hood, the same colored eyes, and the non-sharp teeth are kinda confusing.
Tho it would be kinda epic, if it were hinted by the creators this way, that this new mistery guy is monitoring the events since the beginning. |

I don't remember Slash EVER wearing a hood, so I don't know why we would assume that's him on the cover of the April Micro...

We had no idea what Slash was going to look like when we put that cover together, so we figured best just to obscure him as much as possible.
I like that you guys give us credit for planning something crazy like that so far in advance. Though to be fair, we ARE planting some hints right now for something we won't get to for at least fourteen months, so anything is possible. |

14 months? Ninja Turtles#34 roughly? Lets see #21 lead up,#22-#28 "City Fall", #29-#33 ???. The second act to the storyline with Krang with likely be a bulk of it. This hint starting with #21 would be who is testing the turtles that lays the foundation for this event culminating fourteen months from now? What do the rest of you think?

Well, if it's really after the 2nd Krang story arc, it might be the introduction of Bishop in relation of the alien activities directed toward earth (= Krang tries to terraform the planet). I think it was even confirmed before that IDW has plans for him... or am I wrong?
I also think that the Utroms will wake up in a future story arc. And Karai will probably betray Shredder. Also, this new mistery guy, and the beating they got from him, and his remarks of the turtles' untrainedness might indicate that they will go somewhere to train? Like travelling the world, like in Archie? Or maybe they introduce the Anchient One? Or a training montage, while 'Eye of the Tiger' is playing in the background.
