I mean, it's a great looking set, but... how has the game changed?

I'm still happy with it, but I think it was a little over fluffed to gain excitement... however... if that's the case it certainly worked! It was hard as hell to get a set.

a Technodrome? like from their CINEMACHINES Die Cast line? Cause a Technodrome for 1/10th figures, even just a scale up from the vintage toy would be highly improbable and super expensive. MOTUC's Castle Grayskull was crowdfunded, barely got it through was for supporters $200 while for others $300, and that was Mattel.

While i'm incredibly happy to have secured a set this year (was tough lol), last year's set was stronger, at least for my taste. And more ambitious. It had more new stuff, not just 1/4 figures scaled down.
Looking forward to seeing what they show next year that's for sure! And REALLY looking forward to the day when NECA can mange to release more TMNT stuff that isn't convention exclusive. Please, please let it happen someday soon. (I really want a NECA Splinter okay?) |

Both.
Another example then Mattel's 2013 Castle Grayskull would be Hasbro's Jabba's Sail Barge, that's a $500 play-set that was crowdfunded. NECA have slightly dabbled with 1/10th vehicles and this set is their first proper diorama, a Technodrome would be lofty to do. |

Proof that Mikey can hold is chucks in his belt just like the show... So there should be no reason why Movie Mikey can't do the same. Just heat the belt up for a min or so.

I've been in this "game" since the first ninja turtles toys, and we've never seen something that nails it like this does. Movie Star figures were beyond disappointing. NECA's 1:4 scale are awesome, but impractical for many collectors. I only jumped in because I thought we'd never get these. Just because it doesn't scratch someone's particular itch, doesn't mean this isn't a milestone in Ninja Turtle toy history. |

I haven't played a game this frustrating since TMNT1 on the PC. Curse that sewer jump!

From a technical standpoint not much that was offered was actually "new" in last years set. The turtles themselves were repainted arcade turtles and the bad guys were retooled from the Mirage/arcade sets as well. So the only new pieces we got in last years set is Krang, his bubble walker, shredder's can of mutagen, the blaster rifles, the turtle comms, shredder's comm unit, the grappling hook, raphael's sai and finally the collectors case. Everything else is reuse. |

There was also the new accurate Foot Solider heads and arms, which really did make them almost new figures by comparison.

Did I read correctly that we have seen cases of these Neca exclusives popping up on sites like Big Bad Toy Store?
Anyone care to comment on how common this has been or have a guess at when it could happen? Thanks |

Out of curiosity has NECA ever stated how many sets they put up for pre sale each day and also how many sets they will be taking to the con? I'm guessing the total 5000 pieces might be split something like 2000 for pre sales and 3000 for the con? Just a guess have no idea really...
