My Kintaro is 164/200, but Splinter, like Optimus Primer's, just says PROOF on it.

That seems very unusual. Someone with Facebook could leave a message on Pintrill's page. I would like to see photos of a Splinter pin with the issue number and one that says "proof." I'm a very visual person. Only if posting pics is convenient though.

Really curious what that means.
The only guess I can make is maybe proofs are the first ones made that were, in a sense, testers to make sure it was coming out right, and since it worked they were included in the batch prior to those that received numbers? (More to my theory that the earliest ones made could have been at the bottom of the pile prior to shipping and might go to those who got in under the wire...) |

That's my guess too. Makes no difference to me, it's a great pin in perfect shape. & you can't beat the price of free.

For Splinter I got 46/200 and ordered as soon as Autbot_Benz posted the link and my friend did the same and got 192/200. The two I got from a fellow dromer are Mona Lisa 124/200 & Kintaro 57/200. I attached some photos if anyone needs reference pics for any reason. I found the bags are easy to seal again if opened carefully. |

Mine also says "Proof". My friend got a 73/200. Wonder which one is better or more rare and should trade her for...

Yeah I would think proof would be more rare. But have no actual idea. Comes down to personal preference. Knowing that they got advertised as a run of 200. I would be extremely bothered if mine wasn't numbered. Even if the proof became twice as valuable in time I would still need one that has a 1-200 designation. And I would not buy a non-number on the secondary market. That's just me though and my weird way of thinking. Reminds me of how some comics are issue #0 which is cool.

You're theory is correct, the proof pins are indeed less common. The manufacturer first makes a set of proofs on a master disk that's about the size of a vinyl record, they present the proof to purchaser for approval on color and everything before moving on. Those look to be about 2 inches so I'd guess there's only about 6 to 8 proofs out there.

Hard to say. They've been days apart and up to three weeks apart. They tend to go up roughly around when the new episode or arc airs, but that's a fairly loose term. They usually give a heads up a few days in advance on Twitter or Facebook though. I've missed 2 or of 4 so far

And grats, Pointblank, I was hoping the owner of #1 might be on here! If there is one for it, I'm very curious what/who the monsters arc pin will be! |

I bought a Splinter off another dromer and it actually says proof on the back as well.

Just checked the two that I have : Kintaro - 95/200 Splinter - Proof I'm hyped to have a numbered one and a proof. Sort of a best of both worlds type of deal. I hope the pins continue on this upward trend of better designs. They've gotten cooler with each release, in my opinion.
