Splinter's last training lesson with the Turtles
Just realized Splinter's last training session with the Turtles before he died was that "drunken master" training session where he drank and tested the Turtles under the influence. Which is actually a real fighting style and has been in fighting videogames like Mortal Kombat.
That was the last lesson Splinter taught to the Turtles before he died. Kinda funny when you stop to think about it. |

And that's how they'll forever remember him: a drunken fool...

I thought the lesson was funny and well done but I think the part where Splinter said he has taught them all they need to know felt a bit forced just to make up for his death in the next episode.
I think the OT handled Splinters last lesson much better, and him telling the turtles they're now his equals felt much more natural. |

Yeah, it is a real Chinese fighting style, even though I think Jackie Chan’s Drunken Master and Drunken Master 2 over video games and other older Kung Fu films that utilized that style, like Snake in the Monkey’s Shadow. I jokingly said that Splinter had been through a lot of crap so they wanted to have him drunk in some way, and this was the only way they could get away with it. lol.
Anyway, going back to this partial topic, you shouldn’t have to actually drink alcohol to pull off the Zuiquan style of fighting. It’s supposed to only be an act to catch your opponent offguard. lol |

I liked the training session and felt they were giving Splinter one last hurrah before he died so it seemed fitting to me.
