The end of Matty Collector
Matty Collector is no more, and Super 7 have taken over the MOTU licence.. No one is sure yet if Classics is over, or if Super 7 will pick it up, but I guess we'll find out.

Okay... That sucks. Super 7 have made some neat figures, but nothing that interested me.
As long as the change of hands in manufacturing and delivery don't interfere with the ThunderCats Classics or worsen the QC. Hopefully it means bye-bye Digital River, cause those guys can be real assholes. Luckily I've not been affected by them, but a friend of mine has been blacklisted when he complained about missing shipments. |

Nobody seems to know what is happening to ThunderCats.
I've never bought anything from Super 7, so I don't know how good they are - I don't really like the Re-action figures all that much - it's a cute idea, but it's almost like a joke that's gone too far at this point. Looks like they use Shopify for their online store - I'm not sure if that's a better service than Digital River, but it can't be any worse right?! I had a few run-ins with Digital River; there was the Castle Grayskull saga where I had to update my credit card during the pre-order period, and they wouldn't accept the new number. After weeks of back and forth, I found out it was because my bank flagged Digital River as a suspicious company. Another time the online store double ordered for some reason, so I contacted them immediately to fix it and they said they couldn't because the billing and dispatch were automated and there was no way to stop the order once it had been made. The guy suggested I refuse delivery and sort it out from there, but I was worried that they would blacklist me like they do if you stop a credit card payment. So I have an extra Beastman and Man-E-Faces still in their box that I keep forgetting to offload.

I'm super unhappy about this because I fear the Thundercats line may be done. I had never signed up for anything with Matty until the Thundercats and will be super pissed if we at least don't get the core cats.

Not surprised. Doing limited ruins of your most sought after characters is a direct route to Chapter 11.
Stupid what they pulled this year. What the hell was the point. |

Yeah, I think the writing was on the wall for a while. Just in general, quality went down while prices went up; I mean who wants to spend $40 on Gwildor?
They pulled the exclusive stunts because of people like me. I bought a sh*t-load of MOTU Classics, but I never subscribed because I really only wanted what I wanted i.e. I could live without Slightly More Naked Teela, or Acid Reflux Man-At-Arms. Shadow Weaver was the first exclusive that really caused me pain.

Pity we don't get a "Ultimate" He-Man & Skeletor with the new hands and boots, not a fan of the Filmation 2.0 line. I'd much rather have the original Classics figures with updated joints.
My He-Man's ankles are super loose. |

Yeah mine too - he came like that right out of the package. He can hold a pose if you get the ankle exactly in the right place, otherwise he'll face-plant as soon as you put him down. I have a few like that actually; Kobra Khan is resting his face on Trap-Jaw as we speak.

heh, yeah Mine too got that "sweet spot" pose. But he's kinda leaning forward to do it, so it's a bit awkward. Skeletor got his staff to use as help, so he rarely falls over.
Aaw... I forgot about Snake Mountain. Might look into as a Kickstarter... I get it, Snake Mountain was a huge monstrosity and is terrifying for a producer to even look at. But it's still disappointing that it'll most likely never be released (not that I had the space for it... Barely have the space for Grayskull) Seeing the video, I'm a little bit at ease. If they don't poll through I guess it's a nice ending point for MOTUC, at least Matty finished the original vintage line-up, and the current 2016 subs are unchanged. |

Hehe, Castle Grayskull is on the floor in my office because I can't find anywhere else to put it. I was a little afraid of Snake Mountain as I knew it would be expensive, and I knew I had no room for it, but I didn't trust myself not to pull the trigger.
Interesting what he said about the movie designs and Mattel. I'd be up for movie figures they can make it happen.

It was too expensive and inconvenient for me anyways. Sorry to see them go though.

Super7's Ultimate line is pretty cool, but I'm a bit disappointed that we didn't get Teela's long hair head as the original toy hair color, it looks better then the blonde.

Yeah I'm glad they are doing this. It's crazy to think Teela was never re-released – she’s one of the best figures in the line. I didn’t miss too many of the figures I wanted from the early waves, but there are a couple here and there that I’d love to get for less than ebay prices.
Do you think they’ll touch the subscriber exclusives, or would that piss people off too much? I could use a Shadow Weaver.

I'd love a Ultimate Man-At-Arms, he got enough extra bits to warrant a Ult. variant; Mustache head, no mustache head, unhelmet head, snake-men head and alternative armor.

What kind of shipping rates are you getting on the Ultimate stuff? It almost doubles the price for me, i.e. $32 USD shipping. $67 USD works out to around $90 AUD total for me, which is not going to happen.

I haven't checked, been pretty broke... I forgot the MOTUC sub XD I thought it was going to renew in December not November, and I got that NYCC Foot set...
But, I heard from Pixel Dan's podcast that the price is being negotiated since Super7 is now dealing with a more "mainstream" toy-brand and people that overpaid shipping might get a refund on the excess payment later down the line. |

Yeah that’s true, I listened to that podcast. I didn’t think the shipping would be as cheap as Mattel’s, but I wasn’t expecting over triple the price. I’ll see what happens, but it’s too expensive for me right now, and I don’t really need anything from this wave anyway.
Funny, the same thing happened with Castle Grayskull during the pre-order pledge thing they did – Mattel originally quoted something like $120 shipping to Australia, then busted it down to less than $50 somehow.

Got my Tuskador and Horde Wraith, my last sub figures. They are okay figures but it's not ending on a high note for me, and sadly I've been low on money during the holiday season so no Matty Sale for me. Which is sad cause I was hoping to finish my Watchmen figures and snag some MOTUCs I didn't have, the after marked is going to be hell.

I loaded up a cart but the shipping got out of hand so I only ended up getting Gwildor and Light Hope. December always put me in the poorhouse - both my sisters' birthdays, plus Christmas, bills, and time off work means I spend a lot of money on food for some reason.
It felt a little sad when they they started putting 'gone for good' on everything.
